Was the Timewalker class originally meant to be in WoD?

Before I start I want to make one thing clear:

PLEASE DON'T USE THIS THREAD TO DERAIL IT INTO A "WOD LACKS CONTENT COMPARED TO PREVIOUS EXPACS" DEBATE. THERE'S ALREADY OTHER THREADS ON IT.

Anyway, this is a thread in reference to the 3 NPCs labelled "timewalkers" in the Timeless Isle.

Prior to Blizzcon (and the leak) when people were discussing ideas for the next expac, the time travel expac made a small discussion take place.

One of the major points behind the hints towards it was the 3 blood elf NPCs on the Timeless isle.

What made these NPCs stand out so much was that they each had their own specific title (I think Warden, Watcher and something else could be wrong). When you spoke to these 3 NPCs they each explained their "speciality" as a timewalker. 1 of them explained how they use their power to attack people, 1 of them explained how they use time to "heal" wounds, and the other explained how he's the tank of the group and protects the others.

This clearly stands out as it was thought to be a hint at a new class with it being incredibly obvious, 3 specs, can perform each role.

However this class never got announced despite the time travel expac and these 3 blood elves are now forgotten.

So what do you think?

Was it just a coincidence that 3 Blood Elf NPCs with the same title explaining different "specs" appeared on the Timeless Isle?
Where they cut from the game for some reason?
Will the class make an appearance in the future?
Would you enjoy the idea of said class?
Will these 3 make an appearance as a council style boss fight in WoD?

I'm not stating it was, just saying it was thought of as a possibility pre-announcement due to them clearly defining their roles when spoken to which match up to our current holy trinity.

Just seemed weird to have them included there and never mentioned/referred to again

Sounds very much like a tank

Here's one from a weaver:

The Weavers are acanists who specialize in chronomancy; the art of weaving time.

Amongst the Timewalkers, we alone can repair damage to the timeways, open temporal portals, and other such tasks.
These things once came easily to the bronze dragonflight, but alas, no longer.

Sounds like a potential healer, repairing damage. Maybe manipulating time to return your body to before it was hurt.

This thread could be an interesting discussion of if it works as a class and if they could fit into the game.

Though it sounds like a great idea, it seems to me that more Amour sets and spells of mages suggest they're gonna become more choronmncers. Maybe a quest to join the timewalkers?

The idea of a mage spec like that would be cool if they ever add 4th specs, hopefully a healer

While it could be a "class" though odd if it was, it sounds more to me like an allusion to the "holy trinity" of tank/heals/dps.

While Blizzard did preview the new race/class combos for Cata in Wrath, I really don't think that they'll add another class for a while. Monk hasn't been terribly well-received.

Yes as was already mentioned, Timewalkers are a faction of the Bronze dragonflight (and their mortal allies? Unsure about this).

Timewalkers in the TCG were a variety of classes. I think the only class not represented was monk.

Yeah I just think its like a lil tidbit o lore for Bronze Dragons and Timewalker faction. I mean if you think about it everyone is a time walker. Walk somewhere, did it take time? BOOM TIMEWALKER

I don't know about "originally meant for", but it would have been pretty cool. Mage Tank.

All of their roles seem to relate to the time ways directly, not in helping the world or the people in it. Weavers heal time, not people. It's a great concept to have a class that can protect, heal or damage by knowing what going to happen before it happens, changing the timeline so damage was never taken in the first place or edit time to inflict damage. The biggest problem though is that some people have enough problems working out the story of Warlords of Draenor as it is, without a timewalker class. For some reason some people believe they have a PhD in time travel, then think that this, somehow, is law in a fantasy video game as well.

If it was the plan to have a timewalker class I wish they would have went through with it, could have been a heals/dps class so easily. I would have rerolled in a heartbeat. But sadly, it won't ever happen because Blizzard hasn't came up with a good idea in a very long time..

Don't think so, otherwise they would have had a neutral race to go with it.
