    New build, some insight needed.

Alright, my beloved ol' dusty computer is going to retire and I've been in touch with a local shop already and now after some discussion with them I have an list of components that they've offered. Obviously I'm going to be gaming on it, various games from WoW to possibly battlefield4 and whatever I happen to buy. That being said, I've set a personal goal of rougly 1000-1400€ and might be able to get the set listed below for as low as ~1100€.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

I'm not too good with computer parts and my main concern at the moment is how does the RAM match the CPU? Pcpartspicker for example gave an notice about the RAM having native voltage of 1.65V while the CPU is at 1.5+5% (1.575V?). The CPU is definately seeing some overclocking, how is that going to affect the RAM? The GPU and CPU should be good enough, but should I invest a bit more for the RAM (for faster, not just more) or will the one selected be enough?

EDIT: G.Skill 8GB (2x4GB) Dual Kit Ripjaws DDR3-2133, 11-11-11-30 seems to be 2€ more expensive in sale from the same shop, would this be a better choice over the Kingston listed?

Thanks in advance for helping / teaching!

That CPU Cooler hehehe I think it's too big and too pricey, even low profile RAM has to be pushed to side, seriously don't recommend it.
Also the RAM you picked, it's 1.65v @ 1600, also a very BAD idea.
The rest seem alright, I have HyperX 3k myself, can't say anything bad about it.

So you are having the shop put the build together for you? If they don't have that RAM let us know, or give a link if they have an online shop so we can pick from what they have. Also in my opinion asking 100 gbp for building a PC, I want that job

Get 1.5V RAM or you'll have to run it at lower speeds. RAM speeds don't really make a difference in day to day usage so you're going to be fine with 1600 mhz RAM. Rest looks good.

The macho-120 is a wonderful cooler actually, and has up to 36mm RAM clearance. You can easily find 30mm height RAM so that's not an issue.
Fluorescent - Fluo - currently retired, playing other stuff

    i5-4670k @ 4.5 / Thermalright Silver Arrow Extreme / Gigabyte Z87X-D3H / 8GB DDR3-1600 RAM / Gigabyte GTX 760

Err, that's taller RAM than allowed, obviously.

The price difference between the Thermalright and Cooler Master suggested is less than 4€. Thermalright seems to be quite a bit better in terms of cooling the CPU down. The i5 4670k is going to get overclocked, no doubt of that and for 4€ I might just go for the better cooler. :-)

Yes, I've getting it built up but the price isn't definately anywhere near 100gbp. I'm getting it built because my lack of free time for a while, that's it. And because of getting it built, it's honestly not my headache if it's hard to fit. They will give me an warning if it's not going to fit.

Just to confirm: For the CPU in my list, 1.5V RAM should be preferred? And lower CL rating is a good thing, right? G.Skill 8GB (2 x 4GB) RipjawsX, DDR3 1866MHz, CL8, 1.5V would be ~8-10€ more expensive than the Kingston in my list, but still around 8-12€ cheaper than GeIL EVO CORSA Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory. Should I swap for the Kingston for G.Skill memory if I wanted to save that ~10€ compared to GeIL?

Edit: That G.Skill actually might not fit. Got to contact the shop and confirm.

Get any RAM that is rated for 1.5V or lower, 1600 mhz or higher and CL9 or lower. Be sure to check RAM height as well and don't have that exceed 36mm.

Alright, will look into some other RAM then. Thanks!

Out of pure curiosity, how well I could expect this build to work on modern games? It's not going to struggle, but might it handle some new games on maxed out settings for example? (1920x1080 native resolution monitor)

It's going to max every game out there.

Ugh, maybe you should check again, it's 20gbp not 4 price difference, Thermalright is ALMOST double the CM price.

Yes, the RipjawsX would be better than GeIL. Don't worry about fitting, you have 4 slots so you can keep the one near CPU free.

Yes it will handle all currently released games on Super Ultra.

Just to make things clear, RAM rated 1.6v for 2400mhz will be stable at lower speeds with 1.5v.
