People know the game won't be that big, or over exposed as this forum or places like twitch lead you to belive. We're saying that Blizzard plays thier cards sometimes when exactly the competition is as it highest (release). It's what a business does. Obviously they're going to deny it, I mean, what are they gonna say ''Yeah man, expect it that week, screw that! Check us out!''.

That's why you can pretty much guarantee something in 2 weeks or so. And, no I'm not talking about Blogs that most here would just shove aside. If not, I'd be incredibly surprised, in a not so good way.

Ah who knows? Why am I trying to bring logic into weird ass conspiracy theory territory anyway? Yeah Blizzard has probably been holding open beta off for MONTHS waiting for Wildstars release!

Nobody with any logic thinks they held back testing JUST to coincide with Wildstar. What's more likely is the testing very recently reached a phase where they felt comfortable bringing in public testers. Since it's this close to Wildstar anyway, what harm is there in holding off a few more weeks, continuing internal testing, and countering their release with your public alpha/beta and all the streams and flood of information that should bring. We've seen them do very similar things with patches in the past, possibly holding off an extra week or so to counter another game launch (I'm thinking namely of 4.3 being the biggest example to counter what was thought of at the time the biggest threat this game had seen).

I mean, it was pretty clear some kind of technical issue kept them from beginning testing as early as they wanted to.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Blizzard doesn't usually have a big presence at E3 anyway, do they?

Why are people so close minded? You know Wildstar is a pretty big game and I am sure it will get a bigger following than most mmos that have come out so far.

4.3 was a month before TOR. By all the weird little theories, they would've just held off on that.

Blizzard will be at E3 this year, but it doesn't matter if they were or not. This is when everyone is paying attention to video game news, and it'll be on the news sites with the E3 news as well.

Almost 7m subs on youtube, so yes. They are kind of a big deal. I think they are idiots and I can't stand them, but they have a huge following, not unlike pewdipie.

It's an unfinished product, that will be pulled down countless times for new builds/bug fixes versus a brand spanking new game. If this was the final version of WoD coming out around the same time you might have a point. But there's no way that loads of people that have already decided that they want to play wildstar are cancelling their wildstar experience for WoD Beta.

WoD Alpha going live will generate a ton of interest. You're right in that it probably won't sway people who have decided they will be playing Wildstar, but there are people on the fence.
