    New build

Hi all. First of all thanks for reading this
In the next few days I will be able to do a custom build. I think the parts I picked should be good, but I would appreciate if someone could doublecheck this for me.
Also any advices, inputs and improvements are welcome.

    Budget: £1600-£1700
    Country: UK
Games: RIFT, WoW, Wildstar when it comes out, and more... Im happy with 1920x1080, wanna try an IPS monitor.
I will be reusing my Samsung 830 as a 2nd SSD, no need for os or peripherals.

Two things I'm not rly sure about are the monitor and the case. Anyone any experience with the two?

    The build:

    Thank you

    A few thoughts here.

    1) You probably don't need an i7-4770K (or didn't mention anything that demands it)
    2) Triple check the H100i fits the case. It's big. You might consider the H80i.
    3) Do you need the 840 EVO if you have an 830 + HDD?
    4) The 780ti is likly overkill for 1080p.
    5) I'm not sure if there are cheaper powr supplies. The XFX 650w Gold is good, but you might be able to get something cheaper without sacrificing anything.
    6) If you want to go 27", I'd recommend a 1400/1440p monitor. 1080 looks meh to some people at 27".

    1. I probably dont, but the price difference is not that big so i left it there as a futureproof. Is it gonna perform worse than i5-4670K?
    2. h100i does fit the case, either at the bottom or at the top
    3. The 830 i have now gets full quite easily, so i wouldnt mind having some extra ssd space

    6. Can you or anyone else suggest any good 1440 IPS monitor then? Not too expensive tho

Monitor wise the most economical would be that I can find on the UK pcpartpicker.

    or

MX line isn't a bad one but it's still limited at 1920x1080. PB line is decent, PA line is expensive for what it is and not worth it. For 1080 I'd go with NEC EA line. U####HM isn't bad for Dell's low end.

4770K doesn't futureproof anything. It's kind of like saying carrying an extra tire in your car's trunk will make it go faster later on... Because 4 tires make your car go, so 5 make it go more, right?

    As far as performance... Tossup.

Pros: 4770K is usually a higher binned (read: Manufacture quality) than 4670K, so in theory it MAY be able to OC higher than 4670K
Cons: 4770K uses hyperthreading, which causes increased heat, so in theory it MAY not OC higher than a 4670K.

Honestly, anything more than $1 spent on a 4770K if you don't need hyperthreading is a waste, in my book. It won't perform any better in games (And some select games, hyperthreading actually causes it to perform marginally worse, simply due to awkward code)

Once again thanks for your replies. I've swapped the 4770k with 4670k. I wasnt aware of the facts that it might actually perform worse.

Now only if I could decide which monitor to get. I've read reviews on both Remilia linked. Some of them are good, some bad so im not sure.
How about Iiyama Prolite XB2779QS-S1? Is it any good?
