Look. Let's say I'm selling you a padlock and a key. Both for one hundred dollars.
"That's too much!", you might rightly say.
"Well," I'd reply, "Your other option is to buy the lock for two hundred, and the key for 300, so as you can see this is plainly a better deal."
It makes no sense from a logical perspective. The fact that you're offering the good and or service for more money under different circumstances doesn't make the deal more enticing.
