    Wow - I keep checking this thread and learning more. Thank you all. My Naga came in the mail today. Going to set it up tonight

    As a Survival Hunter;

    1 - Serpent Sting
    2 - Explosive Shot
    3 - Black Arrow
    4 - Glaive Shot
    5 - Arcane Shot
    6 - Dire Beast
    7 - Intimidation

    Q - Cobra Shot
    E - Disengage
    F - Feign Death
    X - Kill Shot
    Shift + Q - Multi Shot
    Shift + E - Misdirection
    Shift F - Deterrence

    Shift + 1 - Counter Shot
    Shift + 2 - Explosive Trap (w/ Trap Launcher active)
    Shift + 3 - Freezing Trap (w/ Trap Launcher active)
    Shift + 4 - Ice Trap (w/ Trap Launcher active)
    Shift + 5 - Snake Trap (w/ Trap Launcher active)
    Middle-Mouse-Button - Mend Pet

    That's my basic set up. I've been meaning to edit my Shift 3-8 some. I do have things linked up to 8 on the normal bar and on shift, but I very more likely will click them than type them.

    In general, the majority of my keybinds are universal through all of my characters. For instance:
    I always keep my interrupt on Shift-1.
    F or Shift-F is usually something relating to movement (Hunter is my exception as they don't have any speed buffs).
    Q and Middle Mouse are the keybinds I hit the most (Q is taunt on my tanks and Middle Mouse is Dragon Roar/Death Grip/etc).
    Shift-Q is always my AoE attack.
    E and Shift-E usually some type of extra combat ability that I couldn't fit somewhere else but that I still need often (Disengage/Misdirection/Gorefiend's Grasp/Death&Decay/etc)
    Finally, X is always my finisher or strongest ability: Kill Shot/Execute/Killing Spree/Dancing Rune Weapon.

    P.S. While it's not a keybind, since returning to WoW after Christmas of this year I've started a habit of putting all of my buffs on the right action bars and hitting them quickly with my mouse, since that's usually where my mouse hangs out anyway. This was especially necessary with my warrior, due to how many buff they have.

    I never really given much thought to how many key binds I've ended up using over the last decade (god, so much time lost to this game). However, seeing how other people roll has made me start thinking that maybe I... have a lot of key binds. I use the same bind template for each of my characters, but for my hunter this is my map.

    With Cnt
    With Shift. So there's plenty keybingings, still learning how to use ALT modifier

    Only thing i haven't bound is Eagle Eye (herecy i know!)

    Thank you for sharing the logic behind the bindings - this is really helpful for alts. For example, in every game I play C has always been my self heal. I like how you use that same logic elsewhere.

    Don't know enough about hunters to give a proper suggestion,
    but here are my action bars:

    | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | g | f | q | e | <-- modifier: Alt
    | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | g | f | q | e | <-- modifier: Ctrl
    | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | g | f | q | e | <-- modifier: Shift
    | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | g | f | q | e | <-- no modifier

    top row is reserved for things that are not critical in combat, because it's a bit harder to use in a rotation with the alt modifier. slot 6 is never used, too far away to push while using WASD.

    I play A(stafe left) S(forward) D(strafe right) and X(backward) - I use a naga..
    (I play a Brewmaster)
    1-keg smash
    2-jab
    3-tiger palm
    4-blackout kick
    5-kick
    6-guard
    7-breath of fire
    8-taunt
    9-chi wave
    10-roll
    11-statue
    12-throw keg

    then I have

    Shift 1-12 for lesser used abilities..not gnna list them
    q,w,e,r,f,v,c,z all bound to important stuff.
    shift q,w,e,r,f,v,c,z.
    mb4, mb5
    shift mb4, mb5.
    ctrl mb4, mb5.
    mousewheel up/down
    shift mousewheel up/down
    ctrl 1-12
    f1-f5
    keep in mind, this is all right at your thumb. Naga will make your binding much easier..theres even more possibilities if you work in alt 1-12.
    Really, with a naga you'll have too many binding options, so just find the most comfortable ones.

    I'm currently using over 33 keybinds on my hunter, i do this via a combination of, 12 Button mouse, Shift modifiers, and i remove strafe from E and Q and put them on A and D which frees up 2 extra buttons. I don't use alt, i use Ctrl on other classes occasionally.

    My first tip would be to use number keys for less used stuff like cool downs i.e rapid fire and such, makes it easier over all for you to use shift modifiers as your hand is situated lower, also pretty much any key I'm using also is being used with a shift keybind too so for instance i have Q for Serpent string, S-Q is Black arrow for Surv etc.

    I think the takeaway lesson of this thread is have some sort of gaming mouse with extra buttons. A 3 or even 5 button mouse just won't cut it. ..

    I'm only half joking too. I honestly don't know how I played before having a Naga. I guess there were just less abilities back then. Maybe Razer conspired with Blizzard to bloat abilities to all more mice, who knows.

    Also, do keep in mind Dela's tip, some abilities are better as mouse clicks on a frame, for hunters this includes misdirection, Masters call, and roar of sacrifice [in pvp]. For other classes, this might include all paladin hands, most healing spells, lay on hands, soulstone/rebirth, life grip., etc.

  10. #50
    no need for a gaming mouse, you can get almost all the keybinds you need (unless you're a very serious arena player) just using alt,ctrl and shift modifiers.

    3 = Steady Shot
    4 = Chimera Shot
    5 = Multi Shot
    Q = Concussive Shot
    E = Master's call party1 or healer
    R = Kill Shot
    T = Deterrence
    Y = Mount macro
    S = RoS party1 or healer
    F = Glaive Toss
    G = Tranq Shot
    H = Revive Pet
    Z = Wyvern Sting or Binding Shot

    B = pet attack
    shift 1 = Hunter's Mark
    shift 2 = Explosive Trap
    shift 3 = Scare Beast
    shift 4 = Bandage and Healthstone
    shift 5 = Snake Trap
    shift Q = Burst macro with RF trinkets etc
    shift E = Aimed Shot
    shift R = Camouflage
    shift T = Feign Death
    shift Y = Mount
    shift S = RoS dps partner
    shift F = Stampede
    shift G = Widow Venom
    shift H = Mend Pet
    shift Z = Focus Wyvern Sting
    shift X = Rapid Fire
    shift C = Focus Silencing Shot
    ctrl 1 = Focus arena1

    mouse down = target arena2
    shift mouse down = target arena3
    shift mouse up = aspect swap macro

    shift middle mouse = racial, blood fury, wotf etc
    mouse 5 = scatter shot
    shift mouse 5 = focus scatter
    mouse 4 = pet ability, monkey stun etc
    shift mouse 4 = focus pet ability

    That's 67 I think. If I use my naga, I have scatter arena1,2,3 and silence 1,2,3 and wyvern 1,2,3, but I don't play much atm to warrant it. This doesn't include W,A and D for movement, up arrow for autorun, marker/buff macro, stuff like that.

    This is on a laptop keyboard atm, kinda sucks compared to my MK-85 I have at home, as it's really small, but meh, it works.

    So yeah, hopefully that's some inspiration!

    Too bad the nagas is so damn small (like all razer mice, made for small children :/)

    I use:
    §-6
    q-t
    a-h
    z-v
    3 buttons on the mouse and alt+shift+ctrl modifiers for most.
    I still click few things though (tranq shot, widow venom, res pet, dismiss pet, camoflage, fd)

    I agree the buttons are small but its something you have to adjust to, especially if you haven't been using mice with more than 3 buttons before

    That requires dexterity that is simply beyond some players.
    It is too easy for someone to say that because they can do it, but the whole reason that the Naga/G600 etc sell is that not everyone can.

    I'd actually find it harder to try and use 12 buttons with my thumb >.> the misclicks on buttons that small with an appendage so big just seems almost uncontrollable.

    Same for me, I found it much easier to adapt to using ctrl mods, as well as shift/alt, than adapting to using the small thumb buttons on a Naga. Maybe that's just me though, I have quite big hands...

  17. #57
    I have pianist fingers, so the Naga works well for me.

    Thanks super Asian genes!

    I would suggest trying to use, `4t mix those in with what you have and start using shift and alt modifiers and you will have plenty of keys and it will allow you to keybind macros also.

    I'm a pretty big guy and i find the Naga feels like a kids toy. I have long fingers so my hand sits at the very back of the mouse putting only the last three side buttons within reach of my thumb. To hit any of the higher side buttons requires lifting my palm and basically moving the whole hand which is just annoying.

    WTB adult sized Naga mouse or equivalent. (Or at least one that doesn't feel like it was designed for the exclusive use of 15 year olds.)

    My last several mice have all been these tiny little things and i guess i have just resigned myself to their use. Are there any larger gaming/multibutton mice out there that have the side buttons farther back towards the palm rest?

    Thanks again - I've implemented a lot of these suggestions and the muscle memory is building. Also:
