One of the best and most funny ways of taking revenge I've seen in a while

2 b or not 2 b? Angry Gumtree user conned out of £80 sends the works of Shakespeare to fraudster via 29,000 TEXTS
-Edd Joseph was furious when the PS3 console he purchased failed to arrive
-Decided to get his revenge on the seller by bombarding him with messages
-The 24-year-old from Bristol wanted to send as many texts as he could
-Used iPhone app and 'unlimited' mobile contract to send 29,305 messages
-Copied and pasted entire Shakespeare works and sent them to the conman
    Full article: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...000-TEXTS.html

Instead of the usual punching people in the face, shooting or stabbing I think this is a very unique and hilarious way to get your revenge.

That moment when you wake up and have 15k+ new messages.
    Draenor EU: Archavious - Level 120 Warlock ; Loaen - Level 120 Demon Hunter ; Arathia - Level 120 Paladin ; Mitosis - Level 110 Priest ; Toreck - Level 110 Hunter ; Aeralinde - Level 110 Mage ; Crikey - Level 110 Warrior

Only an idiot would commit fraud using a contract or well used number/sim.

Mind you would have to be an even bigger tard to send cash for something against the sites common sense rules. The guy deserved to be ripped off.

cant you just block messages from his number? dont see how this is "revenge"

anyhoo, not only does the fraudster get £80, but a free ebook too!

I know you can't block numbers on my provider. And that the 29,000 texts received would cost a butt ton of money. Quite illegal.

He's still sending the texts constantly, they don't just send all at once and they don't just appear all at once in his inbox. This guy is essentially shutting down the scammers ability to use is phone over the course of multiple days, or even weeks if he feels like it.

Blocking can sometimes be done through the phone, not necessarily just by the provider, and you don't normally get charged for receiving texts by UK providers.

It possibly does constitute harrassment though.

The constant notifications would be enough to drive anyone who doesn't know how to downplay notifications or block numbers batty.

Depends on how much of a dick his cell phone provider is. Bell and Telus up here charge you $0.15 per incoming text if you don't have a texting plan. That's $4400 for all those texts.

I'd probably just stab him. Less work.

Well it says that he's already been contacted and yelled at by the seller a number of times, you don't call up to yell a number of times unless you're yelling "OMG WOULD YOU STOP THAT ALREADY". Most people are utterly clueless on how to do anything on a smartphone beyond basic usage so it wouldn't surprise me if he ended up just turning his phone off instead.

Well, it's quite original, but the conman probably already blocked the phone number

It does....if i go on vacation out of a country i usualy have to pay extra 0.50 cents for reciving a mail. So if the seller lives in lets say....germany and a buyer in UK, then the price would be araund 1.7 euro per recived messige.
    Don't sweat the details!!!

Having to pay for texts YOU receive?

What sort of backwards providers do you have over there? that's insane.
