But this time... it's in HD. VR will go the way of 3D, it will be the biggest thing for about a year then no body will care any more except all the early adopters who are stuck with useless hardware.

Yes, because in the 90s people had access to OLED, good audio, bth, mini hdmi / mini displayport and so on.

I can imagine you in the mid-80s criticizing Nintendo for releasing the NES after the failure of the console market just a few years prior.

I'll try it for a game that makes me like the captain of a huge space vessel that I can take around the universe, like, the one thing I know I won't live to see actually happen in my lifetime. It's not scary, it's awesome, once it happens, it'll be a fad, be awesome for awhile, then it'll die out like everything else that's popular. We'll just move onto the next thing.

    That's very doable actually.

I've got similar feelings, replacing "Captain of a huge space vessel" with "Playing Shadow of the Colossus".

I'll be damned if I can't climb up and kill a Colossus in my lifetime.

Ohh that too, I wanna see something really gigantic, something they say the human mind won't be able to comprehend just how gigantic it is if seen in person.

Because most of us aren't HIV bed ridden patients incapable of doing anything else with our lives.

Really, your example is quite silly.
Why am I back here, I don't even play these games anymore

The problem with the internet is parallel to its greatest achievement: it has given the little man an outlet where he can be heard. Most of the time however, the little man is a little man because he is not worth hearing.
