Make a poll
I do miss it, I liked that you could tell someones progress by aesthetics instead of looking at ilvl, and I feel it's made them extremely lazy when it comes to gear design.
Would not want it removed though, seems most people really enjoy it.
Meh - I never pigeonholed anyone because of their gear. I never was like "your gear is not BiS, so you must be a scrub", or "look at me in my awesome gear". Back in the day, skill actually played a much more significant role than gear. Around late WotLK, that started to change. Either way, I never felt the need to bucket/rank people by the gear they wore.
This probably has a lot to do with the fact that I play very zoomed out, so I can't really see people's gear. .

Just you, I love WOW, but I hated running around in my Gnome Warlock wearing a dress. I had the tier sets, and would switch out of the chest piece, and shoulders when out of the raid. So yah Trans mog was a life saver for me. No longer did I have to carry 1 PVP set, 1 Raid Set, 1 Standing around town Set.
Now My Raid set, and my PVP set have a Look, that I choose.
nope. one of the most unjustly criticised parts of Burning Crusade was the mismatched gear seen on most pre-raid characters, often compared to clown or jester outfits
as a conseqence of those petty complaints the art department went lazy in WotLK and made all green gear practically identical to avoid such mismatches and instead created a much worse problem with every character dressed identically and all the gears appearance being bland and boring
the introduction of transmog means that neither of these should ever be a problem again. the art team can throw out as much variety as they like and those who don't want to put up with mismatched gear can transmog to their favourite sets
on top of that you've got some hideously ugly tier sets (I would have loved transmog back in classic to get rid of my warriors Wrath set) that beg to be transmogged away from and some particularly attractive gear that's just too good to throw away once the stats are outdated
No. I live in the present. That's a strength of mine, being able to live and have fun NOW rather than sitting around wishing I could get back "the old days". Transmog = one of the best features ever added, I remember how my toon looked before it was implemented...like a clown. It's easy to inspect people to see what they have, OR go by their health pools if they are in pvp.
If not for transmog, my main would currently be in some weird cyclopthingie outfit with beams of light coming out of the helmet and shoulders, rather than the awesome black replica of hunter t8 from Ulduar 10-man + Malefactor's Eyepatch.
Ah, so you speak for EVERYONE else and you sit on information backing your arguments rather than just nostalgia and YOUR feelings? You and other people miss a far less advanced world with easy-peasy mechanics on bosses and no quality of life features in the game and that's fine. Ad hominem argumentation is a logical fallacy, just so you know. I know for a FACT from friends and family that no, far from everyone misses the old game, and they are anything but rabid "fanbois".

I do - given they'd come back with gear art of the same quality, however nowadays, especially this last xpac, I thank the old gods everyday for transmog as 90% of all gear art assets are simply abominable. I find it incomprehensible, that Blizz refuses to see what the general consensus regarding cool looking gear is, and strangely enough, there is one, period wise - I'm sure they can access transmog data and see what's most popular out there. Why insist on going the power ranger way, beats me. Bring back cloth that looks like fabric, leather that looks like leather, same for mail. Oversized mantles are so last xpac, noone wants air fresheners dangling of their shoulders. Laser beams, really? Poking from the middle of my bloody forehead (/shivers). And textures, God, what's wrong with simple, bad ass elegance? Not everything needs millions of patterns all over the place. Now, there are a couple of gems this xpac, and they stand out so much out of the masses of kitsch it's sad.
So while I don't necessarily like the whole idea of transmog as it is in WoW, I think it's a godsent. I am however, quite nostalgic of times when you could tell a player by what they wore, of times when you did not need titles to stand out, but also of times when you did not need to hide in the darkest corner of Stormwind in shame, after you've picked your BIS weapon, or ask a friendly rogue to escort you in shadows to the transmog dude, so you don't become the laughing stock of the whole Dwarven District
Seeing a priest in t6 back in BC is what made me start raiding. There I was, starring mesmerized in my dungeon blues at that awesome shoulder piece thinking I need to get it no matter what it takes. 6 months of hard work later, having transformed from a WoW nub into a reasonably skilled raider, there I was, in Black Temple, getting my very own piece, that I wear until now.
Transmog took one very important raid motivation factor away. The coolness of the gear.
What's strange is Blizz quite obviously has some great artist - Pandaland, while not my fav continent for many reasons, is quite beautiful in a very neutral way. Do they actually pay their designers extra to be bad or something?
Well , i only got my t3 legs from the bmah. The rest ist original , with old zg/naxx enchants etc. So no i don't miss the pre-transmog days but they're part of the nostalgic past i like to think back to from time to time. Remembering the good aswell as the bad things can never hurt
Druid since Feb. 06
Skill never stopped being inferior to gear. If someone with higher ilvl but less skill is owning someone claiming to have the skill, then perhaps a wake up call is in order. Boosted characters (paying gold or even real cash for gear boosts) are easily spotted...they never perform at the level they should be.

Honestly, no. Outside of combat situations, I notice my character's looks quite a lot, and being able to wear any set I wish without being penalized in stats is awesome. It's probably one of the only features in the game that has little to no negatives (being unable to tell what gear the enemy is wearing in PvP isn't an argument since you can often deduce from their health what kind of gear they're wearing).
You're wasting your breath. Check his post history.
Not me. Back before transmog, no one could take me 1v1. Or usually 2v1. Not that I could kill them, but they certainly couldn't take me (resto druid). But, being a Tauren, I never cared about how i looked. Pretty things didn't look pretty. My priest would care. I never looked at someone else in game, in a PVP sense and thought "oh they have X, they must be good", the closest to that was when you could see someone had Shadowmourne and I knew I wouldn't be a spacebar happy bitch, i had to actually use CDs and be more tactical.
I never thought any tier was actually decent looking. None of it. I did like the halo for tier... I really have no idea. Tier 6 maybe? My shadow priest would have a little dark halo that looked kinda neat when you zoomed in on her, but with monitor size etc, none of it really mattered.
I love transmog, though it doesn't make most of my characters pop like other people.
I love TM, mostly because there simply hasn't been gear as cool looking as the old BC sets since then. At the same time though, I've got to admit it makes me less interested in getting new gear. I've always hated gear grinds in general, as a PvPer, but at least it mixed up my appearance now and then. Now I don't even really have that to look forward to, so I literally hate everything about new PvP seasons. But again, considering all the new sets look inferior, it's not that big of a deal, and I'd never want to give up TM.
Nope, I hated having mis-matched sets of hideous collections just because 'these shoulders are better than my tier ones'.
My problem with transmog is that many good items or even sets from quests only and you can't reset quests so you can't get this *some items*.
btw I love SWTOR anti-clown option - match color with chest.
