I stay because it's hella cheap. Where else can I get endless hours of entertainment so cheaply?
I want to leave because it's so boring right now and watching guilds fall apart is depressing.
I'm staying because our guild is new and we want to clear the content before WoD is out.
So, friends, mostly
Raiding. Finding random lowbies and dropping gold on them. Fighting Alliance while farming, opting to camp them instead of farming, and then getting chased around the zone by that Alliance and his friends.

80+ FPS in Raids on Ultra. Stay mad.
This setup no longer hits 80+ FPS in raids on Ultra. Stay sad.
I bored the stuffs which is in the game right now.. So I'll come back when the new expansion will come out. (I've already purchased the WoD digital deluxe).
Friends, nostalgia, WoD hype, and well, affection for the setting are what keep me subbed nowadays.
The first thing is the most important though. I'd really be lost in this game without people to play it with.
This was the same case for me. Started playing in Classic, joined my main guild in BC, and stayed with that guild til the end of Cataclysm. My guild's demise at the end of Cataclysm was actually the reason I quit. After having raided regularly with the same group for a long time, I didn't feel like starting over elsewhere and decided it was time for a break. That was also the first significant break I took in all the time I'd been playing.
I'm kind of hoping that some of my old friends/guildies will come back for WoD, and maybe we'll get something going again. I know my Real ID list has been lighting up with people I haven't heard from in forever because of RoS, so maybe something will happen.
