    I think MMO-C should be renamed "HJTC-C" - Hyperbolic Jumping To Conclusions Champion

    They're removing the quest text from BONUS OBJECTIVES

    aka KILL X MOBS

    There will still be non- main story quests. This literally only affects "Hey while you're here, here's an extra quest to kill some monsters". Ever since they introduced the pop-up quests there have been these types of quests.

    I love reading quest text the first time through. But Kill X Mobs adds absolutely nothing to the story. This is the natural evolution of WoW's questing since they introduced the zone quest chain achievements, and it's actually making the questing more like in ESO, which is praised for its questing ... you have an overall story for a zone, broken down into a few different chains, and those chains are broken down into quests. Except now you don't have quests to randomly kill some arbitrary number of monsters.

    Just think of this as separating the lore from the gameplay. The lore is the zone story and its component quest chains. The gameplay is getting some extra XP for killing some mobs. I mean, really ... some of you folks are going off the deep end over nothing.

    i know what he means but it has always been like that since the beginning of wow. no one forces you to only do siege of orgrimmar or being subbed for the whole 12 months. and how is wod a pretty light expansion? there´ll be more things to do ingame than ever before

    This is imo very sad.

    Whole point now of WoW is to click on NPC, open map, see yellow dot and go there.

    The feeling about reading quest for actual clues about what need to be done is lost, which killed questing beauty and only specific zone quests also ( I personally loved being sent from SW to Stonetalon mountains, with no clue what that zone is like, and explore it in order to find something I need for quest, now, this is just mleeeh, I dont understand why dont they just put 1.000.000 pigs in Elwyn forest, tell You to kill them all to get max lvl, same thing as doing now days quests.... ).

    Addons that track quests and after that blizz implementation of tracking on map ruined it, but that's my opinion.

    The only new system being added is garrisons. Compared with MoP alone that launched with a new talent system, scenarios, pet battles and challenge modes (along with a couple of things I'm likely forgetting), it's looking pretty light.

    i don´t remember them taking those features away so my statement remains true, it´s going to have more things for us players to do than ever before.

    I'm sorry but what is this complaining? I honestly don't understand why you need to nitpick at every little detail Blizzard presents. Currently every quest, to the bullshit collect 20 livers or kill 30 boars ones has a whole quest text that basically says NOTHING. The story of those quests is about the quality of a porn story: it exists solely to justify the action and the quality is extremely poor, unbelievable, to downright stupid. As a result, while I'm a big fan of reading and do like to know why I'm doing these quests, even I have quit reading most quests, because it's simply not worth my time. And yes, it happens that I miss the quests worth reading because of the clutter of nonsense quests.

    I think it's a great change. It will streamline questing, make breaks between questing and back to hub shorter and it will actually allow the writers to focus on writing the important stuff, instead of the "you need to kill the boars because they have been sniffling my plants" kind of shit that we have to go through normally.

    Cata was well known by pretty much everyone for lacking content, obviously they are delusional because they could still do everything from wotlk and tbc..it seems like you are just trying to create an argument for the sake of it.

    "No one forces you..." is a really silly, empty non-argument. No one forces you to do anything, including replying to his post, but then we'd never have a discussion. If we never criticize the game, the game will never get feedback. Nothing would ever be done because nobody is forced into anything after all. Wishes of players wouldn't be heard. The majority of features in the game you love is because nobody forced them to post and complain or suggest - but they still spoke up.

    So yes, while nobody forces us to stay subbed until the expansion, it is really hard to not feel sad about having to see the game you love come to a complete standstill, even make you leave the game, because Blizzard is yet again allowing an enormous dead gap fall between content patches.

    They will just do it like SW:TOR has it. You're on a story-relevant-quest and while walking to your objective, you kill a dreanor-boar. Ding! Quest pop-up: "Kill 10 Dreanor-Boars." And it's not like that would be any more "immersion-breaking" than "There's boars were you're going anyway, kill some of those for me."

    I read every quest till last word. I do not play this game just to level up and gear up asap. I play it because I enjoy the story behind it also story behind every quest. It makes me feel like I am a part of this world more. And I know there are a lot playing like I do, therefore questing is very significant part of the game. It is sad they are remving texts. It will feel like just fulfilling orders we receive from Blizzard.
    And then it's dysfunction this, and dysfunction that, and dysfunction vaffancul!

    we´re talking about wod and not cataclysm (btw compared to now, tbc aswell as wotlk and cata were lacking content, thanks for proving my point)

    let me rephrase it for people who can´t see beyond 2 written words.
    why would you keep on playing if you don´t enjoy it?

    That is absolutely immersion breaking.
    How can you not recognize the very clear difference between "Oh I killed a tiger and now the game says to kill 9 more tigers" and a villager explaining to you that his village is plagued by constant attacks in the middle of the night where his friends and family are dragged off, screaming into the darkness by massive tigers, driving the town to the point of near extinction?

    One is immersive it gives depth and personality to a town, the other is a line of text that appears on your screen without any explanation for why you randomly decided that your time is better spent killing a bunch of tigers instead of fighting the Iron Horde.

    He specifically refers to Jade Forest, a zone which has a lot of side quests and almost no "Kill eels" type pop-up quests.

    Well seen as it's literally impossible to know the future and therefor know how WOD is going to turn out, and MOP hasn't finished yet i used the next best thing. There's a difference between out dated and current content, anything out dated ie from past expansions isn't relevant as mobs can be one hit and spoils the fun, if blizzard introduced scalable old content to match players level then yes i would agree the content in past expansions is relevant.

    Bah I give up trying to reason with you, you're right, all hail the mighty Mofi let us peasants whose opinions matter for naught bask in your eternal ever knowing glory.

    The problem is, they listed this right below saying;

    - The Jade Forest quests had a very clear story, but it also had a lot of side quests that could bog you down.

    ...When you then read;

    "- In Warlords of Draenor, your map will show you where to go to continue the main storyline, along with the locations of bonus objectives.
    - The bonus objectives no longer have any story text that go with them, just a list of objectives. Now when there is quest text, you will know that it is really worth reading."

    ...you start asking yourself what "Bonus objectives" really mean.

    outdated content from past expansions?? why are you starting to bring up nonsense stuff like that?
    bringing up something that noone was talking about and then trying to ridicule me with your over the top childish comments. way to go dude.

    HAHAHA this is so me.. was I your friend?

    OT - I've rerolled more times than I can count w/ my fingers and still read the quests (especially the ones I remember that are funny/insightful) even though they are menial at best (collect X tooth), but this is a nice change for peeps like me. Now I won't feel bad for "missing out" on potential story. I swear, Blizzard does something nice and people still bitch and moan.
