Yeah. It depends on the rift really. Most of the time it's better to reset and open a new one, A) You get a small amount of XP for each one closed and B) You're going to run into just as much stuff in the new rift, plus another guardian (and thus, more blood shards).

I would argue that chances for legendaries/set/chests/goblins is largely irrelevant, as long as you're in a rift be it the old one or the new one, you're going to be running into those things anyway. The only thing it costs you are rift shards, and blasting through normal bounties you can farm out about 25 in under an hour.

We were on level 4 of a 5 level rift, guardian went down right next to the door.

2 people ported home, the other guy and I went to level 5 and there was 7 treasure goblins sitting on the other side of the door. We only got 2 of the 7 down because he decided to engage them instead of asking other 2 to come back.

    Farming blood shards? No.

But yes.. always clear it. you'll thank me the day you find that goblin pack AFTER you kill the boss, on the next floor... and you get 2 sweet rolls on the sets you need..

Pretty much this, it all depends on what you're after. Though, I feel the need to clear
each and every map (barring if I'm strapped for time that is,) of all mobs, chests,
clickables, and wreckables... so take that with a grain of salt.

Like it was stated before, it definitely is better to do so if you're not farming blood shards for more chances at legendaries.

My husband and I pretty much ignore all the adds after the Rift boss and just speed through the last zones to find and kill all the elites and then leave. No point in killing smaller adds. Sometimes finding resplendent chests is nice as well.

If you enjoy the map then finish it and see if it goes any further. If you don't enjoy it then start another. Personally I like to finish all the way to the end. Chests, more gold, more chances at that one elusive legendary that you can't get to drop. There are a couple of maps I really dislike (Pandemonium Fortress, I'm thinking of you). If I'm in that or enter it from a previous map, I'll exit as soon as it's possible to do so. Do what you want to do. Worry less about efficiency and do the things you like.

Most people just want to close, but I've gotten about 30% of my legendary drops post Boss kill, usually because the boss spawns fairly early on in the runs. Is it worth it to always kill to the end? No. But it doesn't hurt if you still have inventory room and the Boss is already dead. Inventory space is usually my limit for killing things.

Does drop % of legs increases after killing the boss?

The real question is that "how good is the rift boss drop?"

By looking at mixed answers, the answer is he drops crap.

No, but as human beings, we have all sorts of rituals and beliefs when it comes to RNG rolls. I open my rifts in Act V only, because I've gotten two useful legendaries from Kadala there, so maybe the rift there is "luckier". Nothing more than superstition.

I've been going out and starting a new rift as soon as I've collected my loot from the boss, I seem to be getting more leg's from blood shards now than I do with rifts.

Depends entirely on the map but I usually finish the level where the boss spawned unless it's some super-annoying map and check the next map in-case it's one of them elite-fest-maps with tons of mobs and half of them are elites.

And yeah, I've gotten a fair few legendaries after killing the boss... RNG might be RNG but loot is always loot :P

Blood-Shards seem really efficient at the moment, though. I'm getting 1 legendary per 150 shards or so. Too bad they're all Magefists, Gladiators and St. Andrews while I'm just trying to get me some Tasker and Theos Gotten probably like 25 pairs of Legendary gloves in around 4000 shards.

EDIT: Also, this one time we ported to town after killing the boss and someone stayed behind to fight a pack of elites... I saw him engage so I ported back, saw a set-item drop and then the Rift closed before I could loot it. I was so mad Though it was probably just a Blackthornes...

I had 2 legendaries drop for me when someone completed the quest. Thankfully it was early enough to where I could grab them... I understand why you don't give any one person sole control of closing the Rift, but seriously... everyone who closes rifts that aren't theirs within like 2 minutes of the boss dying, without asking anyone else if they're done.... you're an ass.

One of the reasons I stopped doing rifts in group -_-

I fully clear all the rifts, no matter how annoying the map :P
People tend to treat rifts as boss runs from Diablo 2, in all 200+ rifts I did on T1, I got 2-4 legendaries total from rift guardians -_-
    PM me weird stuff :3

If you are seeking efficiency no isn't worth, by starting a new rift you get more boss kill = more bloodshards (and with the buff to Kandala more chance of non set legs) , more forgotten soul (boss can drop them) and last more experience from the quest.
There is only one case when it's worth is if you are hunting ONLY sets cuz kandala won't drop them.

depends on the rift, but i rarely go to the next level once boss is down

I always clear the entire rift and about 50% of the time I'll get a legendary after the boss is dead. Meanwhile, I'm at a 0% legendary rate from caches and gambling...
