When they turn to run, you feel in your gut that their blood has run cold and that sanguine victory draws close..
The taste of power in your mouth, you hurl yourself with unmatched ferocity towards them, desperate for the killing blow like a starving dog is for meat..
They may falter, and your reward is all the sooner..
But if they make a last stand, the reward is all the sweeter, as you defy them, shatter their defenses, and rip the essence from within them..
When they turn to run, all that waits is death..

That's what it's like on most of my characters, on my rather short-of-leg dwarf paladin, its more "Bloody hell, I can't catch up with them!"
Dwarfs, gods among humanoids, giants among... gnomes...

Depends honestly, are they running away after failing to gank me, or after they ganked me and I'm trying to gank them? If it's one of those situations, I will hunt them to the ends of the earth. The most fun fail gank I had happen to me was a rogue tried ganking me as I leveled my bear druid in cataclysm, at level like 82. They bearly(teehee) did any damage to me, and I was chasing after them with faerie fire or whatever up so they couldn't stealth to run away. It took me like a good minute or two to actually kill them, but it was so satisfying.
Any other situation though, I don't care, I rarely initiated on PvP servers, so if they ran they ran.

I hope with the new models the backs will look really good - cause that all I usually see from rogues
    you can add more steps:

step 5 - look to see if you have a chance to faceroll the target.
step 6a - if yes.. proceed to faceroll the target.
step 6b - if no.. remain stealthed like the coward you are and find a weaker target to gank...

Or cd stacked burst is the highest it's ever been in the game and can easily kill most fully geared targets through defensive cds let alone just sitting there in a stun.

And ret just happens to be top dog on burst right next to shaman (yes both those classes' cd stacking is easy as hell to shut down but like you we're talking about a stunned opponent without a trinket.)

Try playing a shaman. Only way to get out of a stun is trinket and only way to reduce damage in stun is sham rage... and 30% isn't going to save a class with some of the lowest defensive scores in game (boomkins/spriests etc. can fuck off with this title - your armor is innately 2-3 times as much!)

My monk would like to disagree.

If I drop everything with a full TeB up, something will die.

This is pretty much also my stance on the matter.

Though I can't say I condone watching 5 people chase the guy on 10% hp.

This is the part I don't like about it. Whilst it can be strategic to kill someone on low hp that is instinctively fleeing, I think people do it most for the dominance part (and because more than likely, the person won't fight back).

Watching half your BG chasing some guy to the ends of the Earth because he has low HP and probably won't attack back is sad.

I think I used to want to chase every player down that tried to get away, but I've somehow gotten more relaxed about it tbh.
Now I'll let someone escape if my chances of catching him are slim to begin with or I can hit someone else right next to me/have to defend an objective anyway.

I do have improved my own awareness regarding when to flee and when to stay though, and even though I often succeed in doing so, I sometimes rage when ppl go out of their way to chase me to the end of the map.

Some of the most memorable chases happened with fellow engineers , like when somebody rocket boosts away and goblin glides of the cliff not expecting you to do the same, and you then manage to kill him mid-air with ranged attacks.

I loved trying to get away from 1vs5(or so) fights as my mage, only to be followed by one macho dude and then raping his ass for trying to solo me. <3

I always want to kill them but seldom have the opportunity to chase someone down. In a BG, I don't trust my team to babysit the node if I tunnel. In an RBG, at worst, I'll be on defense and encounter a rogue who's trying to reset the fight more than run away (mained one for years and I'll still take every restealth I can get); I'll have called out if I somehow don't have the CDs for a reopen. In world, assuming I didn't get blown up by the [lol] dragon gear, I usually save CDs specifically intended to stop someone from running away once they get low.

I think it is instinct to follow to try and get the kill.

I've lost count of how many times I've kited 3 people trying to kill me at low health back to my brethren only so they end up getting raped. That's far more fun.

I usually tend to go after them, but if I know I have more important objectives in say, a BG, then I will sometimes consider leaving them to flee and recover so they I can move on to win the game. It all depends on the urgency.

In BG i wont chase - pointless

but open world - you can bet you ass that im chasin your ass down. Especially if they are using the censor - then they are dying for sure.

My urge to kill is pretty much the same regardless; I want to kill anyone I see, so it makes no difference to me if they run to or away from me.

I find it more respectful to let people flee, less people with personal vendettas against you too. Depends on situation in BGs. I don't engage in World PvP unless attacked or seeing others being attacked, so I guess I mostly go for the majority of people on MMO-champ, going by poll results.
