heres hoping. looking at Rick Perry's campaign speech has an eerie reflection to what Margret Thatchers campaign was like in the 80s. The difference is, Perry is an outright bigot, while thatcher kept hers covered with a shroud.

Seriously, what kind of c**t is this guy? Having guys like this and Romney in power over something as powerful as the american government is pretty scary.

    2. The job market employment numbers are jury rigged to look better than they are, in fact most of the "new" jobs created were either government jobs or part time jobs. Many people still dont have good full time jobs.

    3. Many of the people who supported Obama (poor people and lower middle class people) still cant afford to buy houses or have had their homes foreclosed on, and many people who can afford to buy a decent home arent Obama supporters to begin with.

    4. Most people who already had healthcare insurance before the ACA, saw their premiums rise dramatically or their plans got worse or were forced into different plans with higher out of pocket costs (copays and deductibles)
Everyone cares about the stock market as a whole. Only rich people care about individual stocks (for the most part).

Many people never had good full time jobs, and haven't since the 70s-80s. Indicating that no one who can afford a house supported Obama is actually rather offensive, considering I owned a house at both times I voted for Obama. I'm aware you said many, but the condescension was blatant. My healthcare hasn't changed at all. Is there a particular reason I run counter to all the generalizations you just made?

I think when you see approval ratings at high numbers (90%) they are mostly at times of their election day, or something serious happening (war, terrorist attack, something of that nature). Those assumptions actually line up fairly well if you look at crisis/war other in the U.S or on the world stage.

Clinton was the most popular president leaving his second term, well in recent years anyway. Which is hilarious considering the scandal that plagued him in his final years. Had it not been for that he probably would have been remembered even more fondly. Poor Nixon!

In all seriousness there really isn't that much to fear even if Republicans like Perry would somehow get voted in. The difference between the parties isn't as large as their campaign slogans/promises make them out to be, and that goes for both Democrats and Republicans.

It's not difficult. Just have a major disaster/loss of life that gets people to rally round the country and approval for basically anyone in government goes up like a rocket.

Deaths of major government figures also seem to have a similar, though lesser effect. For example, the Cons up here seem to have gotten a considerable boost out of Flaherty's death.

Yup. The people who will ALWAYS vote for the person with a (D) or (R) next to their name, no mater what, should just be ignored. Sure, it would be nice to try and convince them to see the error of their ways, but it's easier to talk a brick into dancing.

Way to pay attention. The poll was done by Washington Post-CBSNews - not exactly right wing bastions.

At this juncture I'd vote for Mickey Mouse if he had a (D) next to his name, simply because of how loathesome the Republicans have become.

The vast majority of US media outlets favor the right wing, so.

But, on the off chance that they bring an actual fiscal conservative without all the social nonsense to the ticket, I would consider voting (R). Won't happen, but I'm not going to cast my vote early just in case I'm wrong.

Nah...not to mention Democrats missed the golden opportunity for that with Clinton...the guy lied under oath and everyone STILL loves him... I'll wager a months WoWtime when Obamas plea to elect whoever the Demos get to replace him includes the phrase: "Due to the Bush administration" when trying to double-talk why his promises werent kept

There's a gigantic host of reasons that nothing will really change come November.

    Gerrymandering.
    Wealth requirement to run.
    Mass misinformation campaigns.
    Voter disenfranchisement campaigns.

As someone who did not vote for Obama in 2008 or 2012, I have pretty happy with his overall performance. I guess I am the 41%.

Exactly, there hasn't been a single good Republican candidate in years. All they do is fight among one another and are now more divided than ever. If this keeps up 2016 which could be a good year for Republicans, with the way the current administration is doing things. Is going to end up with another landslide win for democrats. About the only Republicans I'd be willing to vote for right now would be Mike Huckabee and Rudy Giuliani but neither of them has any intention of running for pres.

Its weird how while most political candidates will tell a bunch of half truths to get into power, many republicans will just say there bigotry and ignorance outright like its meant to pull in votes.

It is meant to pull in votes. That's kind of the problem. They pander to their "base", which these days is a bunch of lunatics. Just go back and watch the republican candidate off from 2012 and pay attention to what insane things get the most applause.
