    onyx panther dupe?

Theres people selling these for 50k on my server, was it duped or safe to buy?

I talked to Blizzard customer service about this and they said that if the player had already learned it or had it in their mount collection it will not be removed. But if it's still an item, such as one that is able to traded or put up in the AH, it can be removed.

    Thanks for the info

I have always wondered about those.

I mean, for the longest time you could almost ALWAYS find someone in trade selling an Onyx Panther for like 50 to 80k, and anyone with even a basic grasp of simple math could instantly tell that there was literally no way in hell anyone selling one at that price was going to come even remotely close to makeing a profit off of it.

I mean, do you honestly expect me to believe that you are willingly going to make one and sell it at 50k to end up with less money then you had before you made it? I mean, who would sell one at that price for any legit reason....

I don't recall the Panthers going over 25k, even when they came out... why sell them at 50k?

the normal ones maybe, but not the onyx ones considering they cost around 80k to make

Anyone with even a basic common sense can tell that selling expensive stuff is not always about profit. Usually it's used to transfer money over the cap when you server transfer. And if you can get even 70-80% of your money on new server it's well worth it.

This is always a possiblity, but you generally can tell by the behaviour of the person selling them as well. If there's a level 1 spamming trade chat with it, or someone with a nonsense name has it on AH then it's generally wise to be cautious.

I for one just don't deal with duped items at all, not even cause they are cheap. Every gold piece you pay for those things ends up in the pocket of an actual criminal that sells it to foolish people, often with the side objective to get access to their accounts to get even more gold to easily sell on. Duped items are basically real money and profit in the hands of hardened criminals that get another bit of extra motivation to keep doing what they are doing and keep on duping, and gold selling, and hacking people's accounts and commiting credit card theft and fraud.

Duped mount for just 50k sounds interesting till you realise what you are helping fund by buying it.

Well I did same thing, before transfer two years ago. Bought many mounts etc and then sold it with lvl1 silly name, because you dont want to everybody know, that you have a lot of money. And to avoid guild mates asking big discount on teamspeak. It is always better sell items anonymous.

But I wonder from where came out all those TCG pets. Some you havent seen in AH for months are now listed in 20+ pieces for price around 20K or less....

Only time I've ever seen anyone selling Onyx panthers in trade for way less than it actually takes to make them, it was a level 1 selling them for dirt cheap. Are you suggesting it's the norm for people to sell them for 25k and take a 50k gold hit just make a quick buck after transfering? They're being duped. Just like the crimson deathchargers.

You can buy duped items without worry of getting in trouble.

I have seen them selling for at least 25k-50k in trade chat, bought one for 35k.
