Next thing you know they'll merge the mage portals so that it makes you a portal where Activision Blizzard™ thinks you wanna go.
I don't think that this is a good idea. It should just be set to a spot similar to vanilla. If the darker nights affect gameplay, then most people who don't want to perform worse would make the nights brighter. So everyone should be at the same level IMO.
I really hope that they put the darker nights on a toggle or slider. I'm color blind with darker colors and shades and the game is significantly different for me in darker areas where the dark shades on the screen are closely matched. I don't begrudge others their better "flavor," but I'd like to be able to see the game that I'm playing.
i didn't laugh so much for a long timeWhirlwind as part of ST rotation just shows how little idea you have of what to do with warriors. No other class has AOE for ST.
Right, except for Arcane, Fire, Frost, Demo, DfA Rogues, Ferals, Enhance, Windwalkers, Frost DKs, T16 Rets, and all tanks. (Celestalon)
Come on, do people actually think that this dark is 'too' dark?! Day-Z night time is dark, that game's terrifying on night servers, you literally can't see anything except for the vague outline of forests and the sky. I could understand the complaints if it was like Day-Z (as much as i'd love for it to be dark as hell and the usage of torches or spells to see); But what the new night time is for us is a huge improvement imo, and still a little bit too bright. I wouldn't dim it down that much more though, just a tiny bit.
And as for the people that have some form of disability making it harder for them to play; A slider to change the brightness I guess? Though, regardless of how 'bright' you want the night to be, I'd still like it to be evident to EVERYONE (regardless of the toggle) that it's night time; With players that desire it to be able to play in almost realistic dark.
How dare they speak for all when saying 'we want darker nights in org/sw'. If there's a dark world out there why would you stay in a city? Guess it's curfew time to head back to town before the monsters get me.
Ooh wow! Those comparison shots are actually pretty beautiful. Certainly makes the world feel more believable. I hope this is a setting that will be added to old world nights too.
I'm glad that they're working on this atleast, the current night time is a complete joke.
I still think the nights could be darker but it's a start and a damn sight better than what we've currently got.
Turn brightness down on your monitor, also you can turn down gamma in WoW too. So you can make dark nights.
Yes, going back to some old screenshots I made in vanilla...except for the water, the game looks WORSE now than it did then. It's scary.
Honestly...as for the current "night" in-game, they shouldn't be anything less than extremely embarassed about it. I think they just screwed up the lighting and used the "artistic decision" BS to cover because their egos couldn't handle it. If it truly was an intentional artistic decision...then they need some artists that don't suck.
Wow, Those Textures Look like they are from another game and not World of Warcraft. I am so amaze at how better Blizzard is getting with landscape texture every expansion.
This all looks pretty awesome with the night time.
Man, what a depressing week. Just a big ole' list of removed shit.
Step in the right direction but it still needs to be much darker. I shouldn't be able to see as far in the dark as I can during the day by a long shot. When it is dark I wanna notice it not look at the sky and be like "oh...its nighttime.....".
Final fantasy has a way faster day/night cycle (it's one day every ~80 mi utes if a remember correctly). Wow is real time. And in a real time MMO darker night is harder to have (can only nolifers who play all day long be able to see to world clearly ?).
Wow should switch to a faster cycle too imo. 3 to 6 hours for a full day would be good.
I think you misunderstood my intent. I'm not referring to simple constructive feedback, it's directed at the unnecessary feedback that's already been addressed by blizzard. By whining before its done isn't generally the best way to voice a concern or your thoughts. Maybe that's just wording on your part, but I wouldn't consider "whining" legitimate feedback, but just someone who obviously isn't getting what "they" want. I think there's more respectful ways to let blizzard know how you feel, that honestly would have more of an impact.
I do care. I just don't see the need to post about stuff that's still in the works and clearly being tweaked. Suggesting ideas or thoughts is a lot different than: 'Omg this face (yet totally not even finished - and it's been said multiple times they are not done with face options) doesn't even match my current model. When are you going to fix the same face issue, 10 years?' or 'Huh, no flying through the whole expansion? this is so stupid' or 'Blizzard just running out of time as usual, so they had to move the city hubs. Clearly forcing us to pvp, such crap having to sit in a city and have to worry about being flagged'
So again, this wasn't directed at people giving constructive feedback. I'm all for that.
