RAF Free month Question

Hey guys. I have a question. So RAF recruiter gets one month for the first time recruited friend pays for month of gametime. Does the free month subscription count? Will i get free month once i upgrade trial account to full version? Or do i have to pay for upgrade to full version + one month of gametime?

He's asking if the free month you get by buying the game, which is clearly paying, gives the friend the free month. My guess would be no, but I'm not sure.

Recruiter Rewards
Recruit buys...........................Veteran player receives...
One month of game time............One month of free game time
Two months of game time..........One of eight epic mounts or pets (their choice)

To get the month of free game time, the person you're recruiting has to actually pay for a month of game time. That free 30 day thing doesn't count towards it. They can go to the battle.net launcher store, WoW products, then scroll to the bottom and buy a month of game time, if the account is eligible, they should be able to select it, buy it, and apply the month that way.
