    Motherboard question

    Good day,

Currently trying to build a new rig. I am from Guam. Trying to order items from amazon since they do guam orders and their shipping charges arent too bad. Problem is, for some reason i cant have motherboards and some cases delivered to my address.

    So my questions are:

Any websites that ship motherboards to Guam ? Currently trying to get a z87 or z97 board.
Now if i dont have any options.. that would force me to buy my motherboard locally. Things here are outdated and also very expensive. Guam prices is online price +$150 on top of that.

The best motherboard i can get locally is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131836 for a whopping $200.00.

    2. Would this motherboard suffice for the other items i plan on buying off amazon and will it affect my performance?

    Case - Cooler master Haf912 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER
    GPU- EVGA 760 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER
    CPU - i5 4690K http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER
    Ram - 8gb Ram http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

I'm also looking for a powersupply, what would be suffice for this rig.

    Thanks.

Not sure how up to date or whatever that is, but it's the first result I got, check those two sites and see how much the shipping is, or if they can.

    Tigerdirect.com seems to as well.

The motherboard that you linked does not fit with the 4690k as listed. Haswell is LGA 1150 as opposed to the listed LGA 1155. It essentially won't fit and you just have a useless mobo. Can try the link that irun posted.

Yes i've seen that website. I'm trying to work around fry's to see if they actually do deliver everything to guam. As for tiger direct, they do ship to Guam but they consider Guam "international" and therefore charge way too much for shipping.

I'm not too familiar with the new terminology in terms of cpu, Its listed 1155 and if i google i5 4690 1155 i get the same hits... is it really an 1150 ?

I was confused when I first saw the link on amazon, as the 4690k is lga 1150, thought i was just seeing things. They, and a bunch of other sites, it seems, messed that part up, for whatever reason, the description has "LGA connection 1150", though.

Looks like Best Buy ships there as well, you're just going to have to find the site that has the stuff you want and that doesn't swindle you on shipping, I know how that goes.

Best buy stock isnt that great, and they also dont ship computer parts to guam. Is it a customs thing? Coulda sworn that shipping to Guam is like shipping to any other state as all you do is file paperwork and you are good to go barring charges. Ugh this is so frustrating, i can get most of my parts off amazon but i cant get a motherboard to go with it. Cant use my old one as its like 10 years old.

Oh well maybe its just a sign that i should save the money i was gonna use for this rig for other things. I normally dont go spending this kind of cash at one time as i'm a cheap ass. Saved myself 900 bucks i guess.

Actually just thought of this one, have you tried ebay?

browsed around 3rd party vendors and noticed some of them supposedly ship to guam. So right now this is what my current build is looking like

    http://pcpartpicker.com/p/jkxfnQ

    Questions:1
1: Is my mobo ok? I read i should be looking for a z97 mobo instead.
Thinking this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls?ie=UTF8&me= Asus z97C or
    http://www.amazon.com/MSI-Micro-DDR3...EGA_B00K23BW7K MSI z97-m

    2. I need a power supply. Hopefully one thats not too expensive but can handle my rig. Less then $100 dollars. SLI/Crossfire ready if possible.

    3. SSD Drive- Something decent that can get the job done. Less then $100 again.

I'm already going over my budget. If theres anything else in my current build i can tweak that might save me a few dollars except my case. Its the only decent case i found that i can get through amazon directly .

I know this rig is overkill for what i play, since i only play mmo's mostly but might get into other games since i'll have a pc that can handle it. I really just want something that will last me 5-10 years barring parts failure. Its a big investment, i want it to last.

For an SSD, look for a Samsung 840 EVO 120GB or a Crucial MX100 128GB, whichever you can get for less.

    Here's a good PSU http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-pow...ply-p1550sxxb9

If you want both SLI and Crossfire, then you need a Z97, as the H97 doesn't support SLI. In case you don't know, SLI is Nvidia, Crossfire is AMD. Not sure if you're picking Micro ATX for a specific reason or not, but here are two just in case, the full ATX is probably the one you want.

    http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyt...oard-gaz97xsli ATX
    http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyt...gaz97mxgaming5 Micro ATX

I'd recommend an i5-4670k to go with it, especially if you plan to overclock, but, if money if the deciding factor, you're fine with that CPU.

I picked that mobo as it was the first one i found that was cheap and had a 3rd party amazon vendor that ships to Guam. I honestly dont see any need for so many pci slots except maybe 2 or 3 for future sli upgrades .
What are the other differences between the different size of motherboards?

I have no intentions of overclocking, as i dont want to have to spend even more money for an aftermarket cooler/fans. This build is already pretty overkill for the games i plan on playing which is currently just wildstar, wow and lol maybe rift and swtor when i feel like it, mostly mmorpgs.

The PSU you linked is 550w, is that enough? I thought maybe a 600 or 650 is what i would need.

Also 4590 vs 4690, Worth it for 25 extra dollars? Should i just stick with the 4590. Again i have no intentions of overclocking so i'm just getting the regular version.
