"New" models have been enabled in my client for a grand total of maybe half an hour tops.
Can't say I really have an opinion, the "new" models could simply not exist altogether for all I care.

the only thing blizz need to work on the female draenei models are their faces. it looks so awkward shapewise , and unnatural.

It's their textures that are unnatural, they looked fine pre 6.1, but now they look so bad that i canceled my account until they fix them.
Do miss the 6.0 textures and some of the faces.
Hope they do find the time to actually work on those to bring them back but maintain the seperation between the faces.
human females and night elf females are all that bothers me now. i love my draenei ladies(though there's always room for longer tails and more prominent head plates) and my belfies. human female gets me worse than night elf, tbh... their massive round chins, just so not right looking.
They're all trainwrecks. They have better textures and details but the model now has even more visual glitches than the old ones.
*I don't remember my night elf female slaming an axe's blade into her face when running with it in hand, or a sword with a broad blade. I can't use axes, hammers or Armageddon 2h sword on my night elf because she likes to slice her head in two when running if the blade is broad. She does the same with most bows, she slams the bow's upper part of the shaft into her face.
*Male night elf is horrible. At least before the revamp it just looked bad, now it looks bad and sways like a drunkard. Seriously, why the actual fuck did they add that swaying animation to the idle stance?
*Male human was my favorite. Now I really despise the running animations, reminds of a little girl running. Also, his left heel clips into the blade of large swords on his back when he's running.
*Female human was...unimpressive and bland. Now it's unimpressive and bland and her right arm clips through the blade and hilt of 2handed weapons on her back when she runs. Slightly better running animation though.
*Draenei male looks looks like crap. It looked like crap before with that huge torso but now it looks like polished crap.
*Draenei female is a horrid collection of animation glitches. Everything clips through the tail. Swords on her back clip their handguards into the back of her head when running. Whatever it is, if it doesn't clip through her head, it clips through her tail and viceversa.
I don't play midgets, so 2 races on Alliance don't exist for me. Worgen are horribly modeled, especially the female, but that's because they were made during Lazyaclism and it shows. And I would only consider a panda female for a playable character, if it actually had shoulderpads that move, like the other character models, so her arms don't clip through them during animations. Panda males look like shit, even worse than the draenei male, which is quite a feat as not much can look worse than that.

That's absolutely not enough. It was written about this many times, and on official forum (US/EU) and here.
This isn't effective from viewpoint of role-play (MMO?). Necessary and sufficient to choose displayed character models for all, not just for themselves. Suppose, choice of models, that NPC use, player can make himself, but other players' models will be used that they already choose ("how it working in any other normal role-playing game", or lost sense of customization). At the same time, you can easily compare how much inadequate new animation are and how unique (from others modern and not so modern such projects) and good old animation / shapes / postures etc. And most important thing is that everyone will be sure that their char looks exactly the way they schemed, without afraid of problems with non-perception of image of other players.
- Why you're so angry?
- I'm not angry, I'm using old model which is using cheerful face and you can't blame me for that Blizzard decided that on new models it's beter be angry!
- Oh... I understand...
- What happened to you, you may want to use toilet?
- No.
- Well, but you run so strange...
- You think so only because Blizzard decided that this animation better suited to this character...
- Oh... I understand...
And argument of "But I don't like to see you like this" is easily closed by "But this is my character, which means my choice how to look like, and not otherwise - there is no you in my stuff. What next then? You'll toggling any part of my customization?".
If they can't make proper models, they must let people to decide their character customization. According to license agreement, everyone has right to choose appearance that they want if it doesn't violate rules and ethical standards, only then it can be forced change (mostly we are talking about nickname, but it's also true for models)...
To sum up what needs to be done:
1) 2 separate customization (new model / old model)
2) allow you to select wich of them you want to be (appearance that present your char for others) always in game. Mix models, not only new or old...
(may be with exceptions for low settings, but not necessary)
This can be accomplished with moving "model" option from settings on character selection screen (and old option will be work only for NPC): so to change active model of customization options you'll have to logout from the world (+ a little more radical point of view).
2nd option is preferable, because new leaves no choice because of not just inappropriate selection of image, but because they are, in some cases, completely different to old (nothing in common) and here they did main and basic mistake that caused all this problems.
Use old animation / shapes / colors (old textures not what people fighting here for) - and then there will be no confrontations, either technically or aesthetically.
And only then it makes sense to deal with whole corrections of s*t they have done.
ps. This's not my idea - I'm just voicing my friends roleplayers, but I completely agree with that.
ps2. If I begin to use link to this message, then better add that I talked more about interface implementing during posting time, but there also was some suggestions how this could be implemented within game files organization on europe forums (I'm not into programming at all or anything similar, and I also don't know whether this player is, but it looks believable), but if they would manage to add all exactly as part of customization (both skins (colors, geometry), animations), there also won't be any objections.
- And now someone posted something similar even in american forum part.
ps3. Before you turn into an offended gurgling creature that will want to say something incoherent to me, read everything here and here (1, 2) and moderate your ardor.
(friend put here even more funny part regarding picture below)

I like the new models in general apart a few issues.
Playing the brightest skin tone there is.
Still waiting on the eye-clipping fix while swimming and some other issues. Skin #7 dead eyes.
So it looks like they made new changes because they messed with my eyepatch:
Not sure how I feel about it yet. I'm guessing they did a pass on old helms so they fit the new models better (due to some having clipping issues) but not sure what was wrong with this one in the first place. That's one thick strap now, lol.
Also, my character looks pissed, but it might just be the way the eyepatch is covering the eyebrows.
I also noticed that they changed the lighting again on the character selection screen. There's not as much of a glow now. The camera is also more zoomed out so the feet aren't hidden by the "Enter World" button:
Anyone notice anything else?

It looks like the eye patch is now oriented directly over the eye instead of 'kinda over it'. It also seems to be angled matching the curve of the eye, rather than 'against' it(a '\' instead of a '/' angle for the eye in the pic) which is what's making her eyebrow stand out. Overall, it looks like an all around better fit. I wonder what else has been changed.
What about skin #7?
Us EU peons get to test the changes later...![]()
