Stormwind boat to Rut'Theran Village disappears

Anyone else waiting for the boat to Rut'Theran Village (Stormwind) and realized it's always been coming and going but invisible to you? I've discovered this today and had been thinking the boat was on a different travel timer. When I flew away from the stormwind docks I saw the ship in the distance so flew back to catch it but immediately disappeared!

I haven't had this issue, is it maybe a phasing issue? are you on a quest thats perhaps causing it, not sure but maybe the vashj'ir quest or the pandaria intro quest? (don't know if these do indeed effect the other boats but might be worth a thought)

This boat always had issues and always had very long wait times.

I'd strongly recommend you to bind Hearthstone in Vale's Shrine (ask some friend or high-level mage if you are low-level) and you will save yourself from a lot of headache. Even if HS is on cd while you are in SW, it still takes around 15 minutes of dealing with that boat, and you can at least afk 15 min unlike with boat. If your character is lv80+ - you can also use portal to Mount Hyjal, which is nearby zone.

The Vash quest does phase you and makes it so you can't see the normal boats.

I sort of play on Mal'Ganis as Alliance it's very difficult to find a Mage at all. I'm level 89 so it's not likely a phasing issue with Vash I believe I completed the entire area. Watch very carefully where the boat appears at a distance but disappears as I approach it and acts as if it's not even there.

It has to be a phasing thing, the only thing that would cause it. Are you positive you've completed the quests?

The quests to escort Anduin prior to Twilight Highlands will also cause issues. I'm certain theres a few other quests as well.

Try these steps.

1) /reload
2) If /reload does not help, try relogging.
3) If 2 does not work, try disabling addons.
4) Contact Blizzard and have them see what is going one. Chances are they will recommend one or a few of these options.
5) If none of the above are working, try to remove the wtf folder I believe, repair the WoW.exe file and see if that helps.

That doesn't prove anything, you could have done the first part of the quest, starting the phasing, but not done the follow-up quest and abandoned it, which has persisted the phasing.

Not having a quest in your log doesn't mean you're not phased. If you're in the middle of a chain and abandoned, then that could phase you too. Group with someone else on your server, and have them go to the docks too. That way you can see if you're in a different phase than normal.

Check to see if you have a portal to and from Twilight Highlands, if not, then you might be in the phase to help Anduin investigate some jerk. You can probably pick up the chain again in the keep or in SI:7.

Check to see if you have a portal to Vashjr. If not, go ahead and get it, just to make sure that's not the problem. And if you do have one, go in it to see how far you've gotten. Maybe you have to progress to the cave.

There's also a ZG/ZA quest on the docks, maybe there's a phase for that.

Blizzard will probably have you disable all your addons and rename your WTF, Interface (which actually disables all your addons for you), and Cache folders to backup before they even try anything like check your phase. It's on their script they have to follow.

Then do the starter Vashj'ir quest, "Call of Duty". You should be able to pick it up at the northernmost dock.

The Twilight Highlands chain could also possibly cause it, however assuming the Mylaa I pulled up on the armory is you the TH line probably isn't the problem(you're at 108/120 quests) so I'd have to agree with the others thinking it is likely something with the Vashj'ir line. I know you said you never picked that line up but I'd still take a look into it.

Looking at your armory for your Mulan char in your sig (I'm assuming thats the one based on the youtube video), you have the Vashjir start quests incompleted. I would try completing it, as ablib said. The best way to know if it IS the Vashjir questline messing with things, is to see if theres a bunch of stormwind guards on one of the docks.

I once waited for the boat, for 30 minutes, without it showing up..
I found out, when I left the dock area, I could see the boat, but when I got near, it disappeared..

It turned out to be a phasing issue, and when I abandoned a quest (this was the quest to start the Vashj'ir zone), the phasing went away, and the boat was visible..

Maybe it's the same issue?

Yes, you either abandon the quest, or in the case of the OP need to complete the quest until it's no longer phased.
All in all, the Vash'jir quest is the biggest culprit of phasing the Stormwind docks.

thank you! i just wasted an hour on this. the second i dropped the vash starter, it appeared right next to me zzz.
