    iLvl 570 for Garrosh NORMAL?

So, I need to vent, and well, I just want to hear other people's opinions too. Recently my friend and I have been trying to get a normal Garrosh kill, as we don't have the time to raid, but we do extremely good DPS for our iLvl (We have been told this by many people, and I have iLvl 541, him being 567), but when we go to Oqueue or /2 all we get are people saying "You need to be 570 iLvl", I've even seen the same thing for FLEX. Its disgusting.

So my question is, why are people slapping a 570 requirement for normal, when he only drops 553, and why are people rely on some stupid number for "Brains and competence".

(Apologies if the grammar is off or anything, I woke up about an hour ago and am still tired from a frustrating night.)

People want fast clears. They dont want the fight taking forever. Now that being said just because you have a 570ilvl doesnt mean youre good, people just assume that the higher the gear level the better the player
Thank god this game isn't just for Rym, we'd have a pretty shitty time - Me

    For quick smooth run.

Their raid = their rules. Don't like it? Find another one or make your own pug.

Why bring the bare minimum when you can overgear it by a lot?

How else are people going to get carried if they don't fill the rest of the raid with well geared people?

Make your own group. They get to choose, so do you. Most likely they're just trying to find a very quick clear group that won't have any mistakes. I don't blame them, honestly - if I was farming leveling heirlooms I would likely look for a group asking at least 565.

I would personally never invite a 541 to a normal Garrosh kill. If I'm hosting a group, I want a fast, easy kill, not a fight where we barely have the DPS reqs.

This has been an issue since the mass use of GearScore or similar mods, unfortunately.

Even if not it's waaaaaaay more forgiving when you run with 25 people with ilvl560 than 530.

Going to go ahead and call BS on you seeing 570 requirements for Flex.

As for Normal, it's fine. That's a 1-shot farm run and is very common especially at the end of an expansion.

If your friend is looking for his first kill he needs to join a progression run, not a farming run. Simple.

Probably they are boosting someone for gold and want pug people to help them do that (of course without sharing gold with pug people). That seems to be quite common recently.

Well similar thing happened to me today, was checking the trade chat and some dude was looking for Garrosh Normal kill(he wanted 570+), I whispered him (I was on my fury warrior alt which has 572 ilevel, I have Garrosh HC on farm on main, told him all the details he needed, etc), I got in the group, 2 mins later I get kicked from the group, I ask the dude what's up, why did I get kicked and he tells me: Found a 581 ilevel fury warr replacement instead of you. :| ...and then I added him to my ever growing ignore list.

No. People do not assume that. They assume that "Given two total strangers, it is more likely that the person with the higher iLvl will contribute more to the raid" which is a completely reasonable, logical and absolutely correct assumption to make.

Is it always 100% true? No. Of course not. But, when you have no other information to go on, iLvl sure beats a coin-flip. This is explained over and over and over every time this topic comes up.

They wanted a quick smooth run.

Thats what I say when I want a fast clear one shot. I DO NOT want to get stuck in a prog group that wipes over and over. I will do that on a toon that is not 570+ but on my mains, i just want to get in and get out -

basically just a boa farm run ill expect a 570+

They probably just want a smooth run. As well, when pugging you need some buffer ilvl to account for sub optimal players. You can't check out their skill beforehand but you can see how geared they are.

Use OpenRaid, you might have better luck than with oQueue. Or at least I've found that OpenRaid runs are a lot more reasonable than oQueue for Flex, haven't used it for Normal.

Nah, can confirm multiple instances of this. My friend pulled that the other night.

I'm supportive of the use of OpenRaid to clear up the issue. oQueue seems a bit too spur-of-the-moment and in-a-rush to deal with if you aren't the group leader. Your friend could set the group up and you could invite 550+ for the rest of the group?

I've actually seen the requirement sometimes go up to 580, but in those cases i would highly advise taking a close look at the leader. Sometimes they would ask for these overkill requirements to either get themselves boosted, or even sell boosts for others using YOUR efforts.

PuGs are PuGs, dude. If you want someone who is going to give a rat's toenail about you, join a guild. It's a bit rude, but hardly the unforgivable insult you imply.
