How do you become a moderator?

I have been browsing this form for quite a while and I would like to become moderator of the video game forum. I was wondering if maybe I could help mod it as well. Does anyone know what that is like?

They check how often you post in what areas and the quality of your posts. If you have a bad attitude and it comes across that way frequently then they'll never let you mod.

I've noticed on many forums that new moderators somehow seem to be like they need to, well, moderate the board all the time. Lock threads and stuff. Just because they now can.
