Wow.

It's gotten to a point that people are so ingrained within their opinion and so paranoid of people with opposite opinions that even JOKES aren't above someone coming to the immediate defense over something as frivolous as this topic.

No. This isn't my argument. It's humour. While I don't speak for everyone it's really sad to see some aspects of the community turn to scathing defensive quips as their preferred method of communication.




tl;dr I posted a joke and the first response is "no no you're wrong". That is sad. Fucking hell.

I wish it didn't have to speak for itself but there's a mounting pile of examples that fall directly into this statement.
