It simply means you should keep a close eye on your stat weights. Hastes value isn't always completely linear due to a number of factors, talent choice, generator clash, tier bonuses, bloodlust etc. The above number is just a point where haste temporarily loses value. Outside of that however, simply following the stat priority in the OP would be a good guideline to follow. We still want to maintain some level of haste, ignoring it would be a loss.

Have those BiS lists been updated since mastery was rebuffed to a decent stat weight?

The problem is that there is not much haste to be found in the first tier of an expansion and that set is pretty much all you can get to give you that magic haste value. As such, I think it's pretty safely BiS regardless of their last minute monkeying about.

There is a weapon enchant that gives a ton of Haste and proc's pretty often. We might want to look into using that.

Since when have haste procs ever been good for ret? Plus the other enchants look better in general.

Just an idea that came to mind and I don't think i've seen it really mentioned prior to this. The buff from using a final verdict or EDS could have charges? Say 3 charges so that going into an AoE phase we could use multiple Divine Storms without having to switch into our single target rotation as much.

Also @Solsacra have you looked into http://wod.wowhead.com/item=118882 vs the on-use pvp trinket? Also, when they get nerfed (pvp trinkets will be nerfed has been confirmed. Either the stats or the proc/on use will be turned into versatility)
I noticed that item yesterday. Mission reward I think? Would be balls to get, but it does look rather nice. 90 sec CD isn't the greatest though.

I can take a look. Doesn't look very impressive though. The 90 sec CD might work for Seraphim, but not much else.

Do you have link for the tweet/blue about pvp trinket nerfs, Dakeshi?

I would also like that link, The on-use trinket synergises so well with ES/Sera. Would need to be a pretty substantial nerf to take it from being BiS Pre-Foundry.

I don't see the on-use being changed to versatility, it doesn't provide enough to make it a viable option. Will still be BiS most likely pre-foundry/mythic highmaul

Maybe he meant halving the primary stat and adding versatility instead?

    Normal Highmaul using T17

Ret seems pretty strong. Not OP, but strong. If they were to revert any of the level 90 buffs then we would be in a pretty bad spot (if my own personal testing is accurate). Cleave is obviously kind of weak but I didn't do too bad on Brackenspore (which has a cleave target probably ~75% of the fight).

As far as stats, I prioritized ~15% haste, then went mastery > crit=ms.

    @ujx

I seen you ran FV with DP, What type of gear are you running when this was taken? Do you see this being the ideal setup when entering t17n?

I used 4 pieces of T17, the rest was pvp gear. I went for 15% haste raid buffed, then started going mastery>crit=multistrike>versatility. Also used the mastery weapon enchant.

And yes DP/FV is the way to go with 4p T17.

    Good info. Thanks.

I agree with Ujx, if buffs stay the way they are ret will be doing well going into WoD, were not op, but were pretty good.

Aside from me trying to figure out what to do on Ko'ragh to make myself useful, FV/DP seems like the primary thing to use on a lot of these fights. I used SW/Seraphim for Brackenspore, I'd prolly use it for Tectus too and if FV didn't hit so hard during Ko'ragh's transition phase I'd use it on that.

Hey Solscra... do you have the stat weights somewhere? Since for PVP damage isn't the only thing that matters, we need to know the difference to measure the value of each... thanks in advance
"I notice my rating actually boosts when I remember to have fun. Playing competitively while also enjoying yourself and focussing on having good games instead of getting rating is way more important.
After 2.2k the fun devolves into a twisted realm suffering and despair and you will quit pvp from extreme traumatic stress and you will probably xfer to Moon Guard and join some Belf rp guild and become a prostitute in Silvermoon."by Clukclukbewm

Stat weights for each set of gear and talent setup are in the OP. pvp has different bonuses and different gear, so pve based stat weights aren't going to be 100% accurate.
