Guide: Warlords of Draenor TomTom Treasure Waypoints

If you have a Level 92, 96, or 98 on Beta, PLEASE MESSAGE ME.

    Last Updated: 10/25/14 10:00PM EST

The title pretty much says it all. I have compiled a MASSIVE list of all the treasures on Draenor currently listed on wowhead, this means anything labeled as such will be here. This DOES NOT include Rares, World Events, and Bonus Objectives. These treasures are needed for the achievement Grand Treasure Hunter and they give a large amount of EXP on turn in, very much like the Mists of Pandaria treasures did. At level 90 I was able to get up to 20,500 EXP for some treasures in Shadowmoon Valley, which is very competitive considering quests give you on average 15k to 10k in SMV/FFR, keep in mind Mists of Pandaria Treasures awarded a set amount of EXP, no matter the level, the situation here though is that the treasures scale down in EXP in SMV/FFR when you level up. Thanks to Eiayaie and Lieledra on Beta I am also able to confirm that when you are in a leveling group with 1 Friend, did not test more than 1, you both can loot the item and you both get the correct amount of EXP! I am also able to confirm that the treasure EXP does scale with level, I however, due to my level, am not able to confirm if lets say Gorgrond Treasure is supposed to give the exact same EXP at 90 as a Treasure in SMV at 90. Now lets get started:

First off, you will need TomTom. You can find a the addon on the Curse website here. TomTom is an addon that allows you to mark waypoints on your Map, Minimap and, if allowed, will display an arrow leading to the nearest objective. Next I highly recommend you get the addon Paste, it is also on the Curse website, you can get it here. Paste is an addon that allows you to paste massive bodies of text into WoW, all on different lines of course, so you don't have to go through and make tiny macros that are a pain in the rear just to get all these, with it you can hit each zone with 1 Copy/Paste.

Now onto the waypoints for each zone. All have been tested within the LIVE Client to ensure they work, with the exception of Nagrand which appears to be having some issues, I reached out to the Developer(s) of TomTom over at CurseForge to try and see if it can be fixed or if I am just absolutely brain dead. If you want more information on the issues with Nagrand see the body of text that follows its Treasures. If you want more information on each treasure, as I would imagine some of these are more than just simple chests, you can check out each Waypoints Description (What follows the Zone Coordinates). Each of the Waypoints descriptions is the Treasure's name, so you can conveniently right click and copy it or search it directly from Google or your favorite browser.

NOTES ABOUT NAGRAND: Nagrand waypoints appear to be broken in the current build of TomTom(60000-1.0.0), I will edit this at a later date if need be to ensure they work. Just to be clear, the problem with Nagrand at the moment is that all waypoints leading to it take you instead to the Outland Version of Nagrand.

    Nice work. Are treasures personal?

I believe they work the exact same way the Pandaria ones do, if that is what you mean (as in they are phased specifically to you).

All treasures are personal, they work just like the chests on Timeless Isle.

FWIW, a lot of the Spires of Arak ones contain archaeology fragments, so you won't be able to loot them unless you have that skill.

OK... All debating in other threads aside... nice work!

Question... are you aware of the amount of EXP they offer? A smart leveling trick was to save these for 89-90 in Pandaland... and got you nearly 7/8 of the level. Most of them scaled in EXP as well... meaning at level 85 one might give (for example) 100,000 EXP, but at 89 it would give 350,000 EXP.

Awesome work here, but my TomTom has been having issues since the patch hit and curse client does not seem to have any updates for it (that seems to be true of several addons now including DBM). Are you just manually downloading TomTom from the Curse website?

The Pandaria ones aren't phased, are they? Most that I've been looking for are never there. I assumed that was because someone else found them and I had to wait for respawn.

Try manually updating them yeah. Both have working 6.0 versions.

Do you need a proper skill level or just learning Archeology (1/700)?

I updated the OP in a few places with information on experience rates. I am quite pleased with what I have found, I get 20,500 XP just from picking up one of the items, I went out and tried a few more, sure enough, each one gave me 20,500 EXP, that is ALOT. If they work like the Pandaria ones though, you should not expect to see EXP go up or down as you level, it should ALWAYS be a solid 20,500 EXP.

Props for the work/effort, but I have to say that this does kind of ruin the point of treasures :P

I agree wholeheartedly, I just wanted to do it before someone else did AND a few guild members really could use this while leveling.

Draenor has a much more savage garbage problem than Pandaria! I'm okay with this though.

The treasurer maps are not soulbound, so after you finish a zone you can buy the maps to sell. This could potentially be very profitable, especially early on.

    Last updated 4 days ago.
    Version v60000-1.0.0.
See if the curse client is showing an earlier version.
If that is the case, then reinstall it from the website.

Also the curse client will only show "release" flagged versions, those deemed stable enough for normal use.
Many addons such as boss mods which are cutting edge, or those in testing for expansion/patch changes will have alpha or beta releases.
You can check those from curse website by following the Project Site link, or by searching CurseForge yourself.

The latest release of TomTom has been flagged release, and so if it isn't being picked up in the client then something is wrong.

The client can on a per-addon basis, or for all automatically download alpha or beta release if you opt in, though I would only recommend it on a per-addon basis and reading the change notes before you update to such a release, and a good habit anyway with any updates IMO.
Alpha/beta releases are likely buggy or trying out new stuff.

In the client right-click an addon, and on the menu select "Preferred release type" and choose alpha or beta.
IMO that should be primarily for boss mods during new content, as those will be updated regularly or if an addon is broken.
If it works, it may be best to leave it alone.

It is entirely optional whether you use such a guide, and them being achievement/xp rewarding somewhat defeats the point of them too IMO.
They are attractive for reasons other than just "there to be found".

Great news! Thanks to a few helpful souls on beta I am able to confirm some things with you guys!

    - Being in a Group does NOT hinder EXP gain, although some items award less than others.
    - Being in a Group does NOT prevent you both from looting the treasure at the same time, proving they work EXACTLY like the Timeless Isle treasures.
    - Treasures do not scale up (EXP) with levels but instead seem to scale down, I am not able to confirm or deny if we, for instance get increasing EXP on them for the harder zones though.

Both of these are BIG, and I am glad to have discovered them.
