Pulled this from official forums. Looks like locks are mediocre at best. Some of the guilds don't even have a warlock.

Tuning isn't finished and the delta within the logs you linked (of the ones that even have warlocks, thanks for filtering out the worthless ones) show that the locks you are linking are all over the place in skill level. I hate to be mean, but your data doesn't really tell much of a story. Did you expect to see all purple on the top on every fight? That's not how it's going to work anymore.

Actually I expected to see purple being mediocre. That's what they are according to these logs. This is more of a I told you so. Those ain't my logs, I just pulled it from official forums. I'm not sure what you are trying to insinuate. If I had to put a test score on it locks are scoring between 20-50% out of 100. Being top would mean 90-100 out of 100. I be happy being bottom of the barrel if the bottom was 95 and top was 100. However, bottom being 20 and top being 99 is a pretty big gap.

You'd think everyone would be used to pre-expansion patches and iterative balancing strategies by now, being the fifth expansion and all that. This has literally happened, on average, every two years and we've always come out of it more or less okay.

glad I have no time to take wow seriously anymore, will just ROFL while dpsing less than a hybrid in every fight, i know my spot is granted because i don't die to voidzones (which happens in casual guilds very often)

Yeah. Alot of these 'top end' warlocks are far behind were they could be.

A greater concern is the complete lack of utility that warlock currently has in comparison to Mages, Hunters and to a lesser extent Druids. Healthstones; next to useless. Gateways; extremely limited usefulness. If further tuning does not see warlocks doing respectable damage in comparison to other ranged dps then there really won't be a point to bring more then one.

Looks like you better find the new FotM Class and change to that for another Expansion

Mostly since the only people I know that are re-rolling from Warlock are the people that only rolled them in MoP for "LOLBIGCHAOSBOLTSCRITS".

I played lock since vanilla, I thought they were gonna be "always fine" during cata, had I known how shitty they were going to be I would've rerolled for cata. Now I'm not making the same mistake twice, rerolling to unholy DK. Have fun getting benched on your warlock though.

we will see what actually happens in WoD - It's too early to tell.

But as a melee, i can't say i don't feel a sense of "Finally", if it is true that Ranged DPS will finally be dethroned!

No, they are not middle of the pack, they range from bottom of the barrel to middle of the pack. There's a difference. People below locks did get buffed, ie boomies and ele shams. People above did not get nerfed. I took all of the locks together and find the an approximate mean, which is not middle of the pack at all. Clearly you've never taken a math class in your life if you just take the maximum and claim it as the representative.

"Boomies and Ele shams got buffed!" what makes you think they won't buff Locks aswell.

How about the fact they haven't gotten buffed along with boomies and eles even though they had same parses? How about the fact they said locks damage too high so they nerfed them by 26% and then buffed hunters to exactly where locks were. Why am I skeptical they will do it right when they haven't done it right? Weird.
