Need help with planning a new computer (2800~ usd)

    Hello again guys.

So, I am looking to buy a completely new rig. I have never before bought a custom rig, and I figure it's about time I give that a try. I have read the stickied threads on this forum, but I still have a lot of questions, and probably dozens of things that I should know about, that I simply don't know yet. Like compatibility between parts etc. I also wouldn't know exactly what I do need, so I need a complete list of needed items to make a computer work (I can probably find that somewhere, but haven't so far, so input would be very appreciated).

The parts I have in my current rig works, but I am just flat out looking for something better. These are my current specs:

[Gonna paste dxdiag here as soon as I get home, on the train atm]

So, for a cabinet / tower, I am intending to use the NZXT H440 by Razer - but I am very open for other suggestions. Basically I want a large cabinet, that can basically be built indefinitely, as my current Dell XPS 8000 is... Tiny. Expansion inside that one has been difficult, but hey, it's pulled off an heroic effort and served me well for like 6 years. I commend it.

In regards to budget, I am prepared to spend upwards of 2800~ USD, but the lower we can get this, the better. I'll list my requirements below.

    Budget: 2800 USD.
Resolution: 2x 1920x1080 (24"), 1x 37" through HDMi. Another optional output is a -bonus-, but not required.
Games: I intend on being able to play any and all newer games on the highest settings possible. This is an incredibly steep goal, but hence the budget.
Other needs: I am a music producer as well, so I need some proper processor as well as some serious RAM. Some of my plugins alone
require 8gb RAM each, and I'd prefer to have at least 2-3 of them at once.
I also render videos from the games I play, and I'm a bit tired of that taking 4-5 hours to churn out a 10 minute
video at 1080/1440p. I'd like to see that down to 30 minutes - 1 hour.
Seeing as a lot of the plugins I use for music production have various, strenuous methods of security,
I need a -lot- of usb ports (some security measures include enforcing a USB-stick to make software functional). In my current rig, I use 10 USB entities through 6 ports, with an additional 2 lying unused that I'd like to use. That's not optimal.

    Country: Norway
Parts that can be reused: Monitor 1 BenQ G2450H (Analog)
    Monitor 2 Dell ST2320L (Digital)
    External soundcard
    Razer Naga 2014
    Razer Anansi

Do you need an OS: Yes
    Do you need peripherals: No

Currently sitting on this build, any suggestions for changes based on what I've written above?

Had a few things to write and post a build but no time.

    1)4790K

The threads actually help with editing programs and you can afford it.

2)H110 is an overkill and not as great/old model if i recall, go for H100i.

3)850 Pro? Apart from the warranty, no actual reason but again, budget fits.

    4)290X is just a no.

Old, hot, power hungry not worth it, its a decent card still but after the 300$ market Nvidia is the only choice until May-July where the 300 series are out from AMD.

Get a GTX 970, hell even 2 in your budget.

    5) PSU wise, unless you are planning to SLI 860w and Platinum..Lol.. is a massive overkill, if you are afraid about the many HDD you can just get a 600W one and still would be overkill.

    Get a seasonic 600w 80+ gold one.

    X99 MOBO
i7 4930k CPU (would have been an i5 4690k, but since you're video editing etc)
16GB 1600MHZ (or more depending your needs) generic quad channel memory
GTX 980 (SLI if you're planning on multi monitor gaming)
    Corsair 760W PSU (for SLI)
    500GB SSD

Your budget covers pretty much any PC you want. Take the rest of that budget and buy yourself a couple nice monitors.

From your needs I would get:
    i7 4930k CPU
    GTX 970's in SLI (Or 980's, there's about a $300-400 difference US$)
The 1TB SSD Is probably overkill, really depends on your needs. Can't imagine needing to work with over 1TB of data at a time.

The X99 has enough of a lead over the 4790k that, in this case, it's worth the extra espense for the upgrade. Should you disagree, then you can save around €250 by moving to the 4790k:
