I'll take "What is Blizzard DOTA for $500".

IIRC Blizzard DOTA was the name of a small scale MOBA type game built in the SC2 Galaxy editor. They might've gotten the inspiration for HoTS there but surely they wouldn't have actually called the final game Blizzard DOTA, because that is a terrible name. Even Blizzard All-Stars was better.

P.S. Valve lost that lawsuit IIRC.

It didn't go to court. They settled that Valve keeps the trademark but Blizzard's community is allowed to use the name in non-commercial usage for anything they make with Blizzard's map making tools.

This kind of thing happens every year, last time I personally heard of this kind of business was with the game WarZ(now known as Infestation: Survivor stories) lost its name to World War Z -movie that came out 6 months after the Alpha testing of WarZ started.
