This is only true if you are looking at a broader range of rating, but by looking at 2600+ you are filtering out all the random comps - and selecting for only a handful of 'best comps'. So Spriest/Fmage/Tree is pretty much the only Shadow comp from 2200->2900 (Spriest/Rogue/X isn't a thing in WoD), but while Warriors work with everything, above 2600 it's almost entirely Arms/Frost DK/MW. So from 2200-2600, you can slap an Arms warrior on any pairing and make it work (not true for Shadow, by contrast), but above 2600 as shown here - even Arms warriors only really have one comp.

So, your argument about more viable comps = more representation would be true if this were a 0->2600 analysis, but above 2600 (and probably more like above 2400 or 2500 or something) that argument will cease to explain the overwhelming Arms representation (the real answer is that they were over-buffed for PvE and it affected PvP).

Umm, that's backwards haha. The number of viable comps a class has from 0->2600 won't matter, because that's just going to show which class is the most popular, regardless of balance.

But if you're only looking at 2600+, the number of viable comps has a direct relation to representation. Spriests can only run god comp, whereas Mages have god comp and RMD, so there will always be more Mages than SPriests on ladder at 2600+ because all SPriests have to play with Mages, but not all Mages have to play with SPriests. Same idea with Warriors, they can play Warrior/Lock/Shaman, Warrior/Lock/Druid, Warrior/DK/Healer, Warrior/Enh/Healer, and Warrior/Hunter/Healer, all at 2600+, so it makes sense that Warriors have high representation since most classes don't have that many viable comps.

In pvp terms, i believe that dubious honor goes to Elemental. Enhance has its niche in cleave teams. Eles are free kills for the most part.

LSD is still really strong, granted that's mainly because Locks have so much pressure now, but I'd rank Eles pretty far ahead of Enhance. The only class that can compete with Enh for worst DPS is WW Monk, because they're about equally as awful.

Oh shit, survival is up to 4.5%? We need immediate attention. Remove frozen arrow, remove traps, remove the pet, remove deterrence, make arcane have a stand still cast of 4 seconds and make cobra shot regenerate 5 focus per cast. We need to fix this epidemic ASAP.

These numbers are still not that accurate because sample size is just too small above 2600. But if you take population into account you see that Mistweaver Monks are actually really strong and Hunters are not as strong as people would think.

Well, there's also things ignored like the fact that Warrior and Hunter and Druid are the most played classes. By all means "technically" speaking, hunter should probably be higher up, especially survival which seems to get all the attention.

When the expansion was launch everyone was crying about ret/dk/feral.. but now you look to the number and they are all in the midle of the pack.. you can call them balanced. And the real issue are the classes that were crying all the time.
