Correct. Think sniper if you will.

Still I wish they would have something more to show from the expansion (screenshots, mastery system explained further, skills?), although this was just a presentation, not a Blizz'Con like event which would have had panels etc.
They said they'll come out with more specific details as the expansion gets closer. Hopefully sooner rather than later!

I'm truly excited to see more specializations.
The perfect excuse to get rid of initiative system and bring something more similar to gw1's assassin. Please ANet...

I need more info , but i'm fairly interested in the idea of playing a GW2 expansion. Need to see what the Thiefs specialization is before i make up my mind of sticking with it or reroll aswell. Kinda like the idea of playing a sort of Duelist Mesmer, using 2 Swords, or a Sword+ Pistol.

The only thing I heard is they will have a working version for Pax East which is in 6 weeks. I'd say 4-8 weeks after that is a reasonable date. So that would be April or may or something.

The ability she uses puts a big clock on the ground too. A lot of people are theorizing that the mesmer specialization will be chronomancer.

Not only that, but the spell effects have clocks in them.

    Mesmer mastery will be Chronomancer

This looks great, I hope with the WvsW changes they finally add in a good incentive (like a controllable open world PVE dungeon, one of the highlights of DAOC) but I like what I saw in the announce trailer. I hope we get more Vista's with the new zones, and jumping puzzles.

The first question I had after watching the trailer was, when did Charr become Master Yi? Cool looking nonetheless.

Season 2 of the Living Story, that's the Charr member of Destiny's Edge, Rytlock Brimstone. He tried to quell the ghosts of Ascalon with his sword Sohothin(which once belonged to Prince Rurik of GW 1 fame)and ended up dropping through a portal into the Mists. He's apparently returning in HoT as the first of the new profession, the Revenant.

So mesmers are timelords. ._. I want to know what my ele will be.

Btw, did you notice that it looks like dinosaurs are back.

I want to see trex again.

For those who don't know, GW1 had dinosaurs: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Dinosaur

    So far we've confirmed

Mesmer w/ shield (time abilities maybe, chronomancer?)
    Rangers w/ staff (druid)
Engineer w/ 2h hammer (Robo controller)

Uncertain or not known at all:
Thief w/ rifle (stealth long range sniper class or xX420quickscopeXx?)
    Necromancer w/ greatsword (no comments)
Warrior, Ele, Guardian, Revenant no idea

Going to add this thread to the sticky list at the top of the forum. Hopefully we keep general expansion talk to this thread. With more detailed threads on specific features as announced.

Looks interesting enough. Still wish Gw2 had gear progression though.

    Oh dear god no.

One of the best things about GW2 is that you don't feel pressured about gear. IMO.

Is it specifically gear progression [stat progression] you desire or just a more definite sense of progression relative to the content?

It may be that Masteries will satisfy the latter if one is just seeking a more... permanent sense of progression to their character in Guild Wars 2. So maybe the new system can give you the feeling you desire but in a way that isn't expressly gear based.
