    WoWRoster : a web application to plan your raid !

    Hello everyone,

    I would like to show you a small application I built to plan a raid roster.
    Before going any further, I want to stress out that WoWRoster is, and will always be, free. I don't support donations, and there is no ads. Also, I don't get anything if you use it or not.

    But what does it do?

    Features
    • Access any guild on EU, US, KR and TW regions.
    • Display all your members, or only the one at lvl 100
    • Search by name, class, specialization or level
    • Add or remove your members to the roster with a single click
    • Display which buffs will be available based on the current roster (handle exclusive buffs sur as a warrior cry)
    • Display raid cooldowns
    • Display the ratio of plate/armor/leather/cloth and the class distribution
    • Save rosters (by guild)

    Want additional informations? Head over to Github : https://github.com/KyneSilverhide/WoWRoster
    Download link : https://github.com/KyneSilverhide/Wo...ive/master.zip
    Demo : http://ks305642.kimsufi.com/kyne/WoWRoster/

    How to install ?
    • Download the project
    • Open index.html in your web browser
    • Done !

    But that's not all !
    I've also developped a very small wow addon to export any of your guild calendar event into WoWRoster. This way, you can analyse your roster, based on who will be in your raid.
    Addon download link : http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/wowrosterexport

    I hope you will appreciate it !

    Interesting, this look awesome! I was actually planning on building something similar, but settled on something different.

    I'm glad some people like it. Feel free to test it, and give some feedback (You can use the demo version. Storage is done in your web browser)

    what are the benefits compared to MMO-Champ raid comp besides adding your actual guild members? I feel it gives the same info just by dragging and dropping different specs to the roster.

    The main difference is that you use your raid members, instead of generic specs. That's just another approach.
    Also, the background is not black.

    And I've added raid cooldowns.

    Looks neat. Couldn't find a way to sort memebers by guild rank, is it missing or am I blind?

    Looks great, ranks wouldn't go amiss, I'm sure alot of guilds would like to filter alts or select only raiders etc.

    Looks very promising. Just a few items of feedback:

    1) The main link didn't seem to do much, but that may be me. Clicking on the demo certainly allowed me to access the guild.
    2) I can't seem to change role, so if someone logs out in their offspec, that's how it places them in the roster (so a healer can be listed as a tank, for example).
    3) As already noted, being able to filter by rank would be handy but by no means a major issue.

    All in all though, this has the making of a great tool, especially with the cooldowns section.

    Pretty interesting for sure. I'm using it right now and seeing an issue/bug. My Holy Paladin is showing up in the list, but I am unable to add him to the raid roster.

    Here's a screenshot:

    Here's his armory link so you can see it is updated and working correctly:
    http://us.battle.net/wow/en/characte...edran/advanced

    As noted on the image above, it's not listing a spec for him. I'm pretty sure that's the problem.

    Rank filtering is also something I'd like to do... but I don't think the Blizzard API allows to display the rank names... So you'll end up with "Rank 1, Rank 2, etc.."

    As for second specs, this is also soùething I would like to do. I, myself, often switch to DPS spec when not raiding...

    Axphism > Hmm, that's strange. I'll investigate

    Edit :
    Axphism>
    The API doens't list a spec for your paladin... so the bug is not in WoWRoster it seems.
    "character":{
    "name":"Thaedran",
    "realm":"Stormrage",
    "battlegroup":"Ruin",
    "class":2,
    "race":3,
    "gender":0,
    "level":100,
    "achievementPoints":0,
    "thumbnail":"stormrage/25/162351641-avatar.jpg",
    "guild":"Astalder",
    "guildRealm":"Stormrage"
    },

    Hey kyne1987,

    I realized that after looking at my own guild roster on my guild site. I have it pulling all the data from their API and it's showing no Spec for that paladin on there either.

    Thanks for looking into it and replying so quickly!

    Rank 1, Rank 2 etc are fine.
    Would be nice to be able to eliminate alts, socials, etc from the listing.

    I've posted a bug on the API forums : http://us.battle.net/en/forum/topic/16016273258#1
    But I have very little hope

    That would still be great. My guild has like 590 characters in it but only 30-40 of them raid seriously at all and have the raider rank. Would be nice to just filter it to "Rank 1-4" or something like that and eliminate all socials/alts. It wasn't a big deal, but it did take me 10 minutes or so to sift through my entire guild and add the people I wanted in the demo.

    Looks could and seems like it's go lots of potential.

    Thanks for the tool, though its not useful for me personally I did use it to fix my guild's old raid spreadsheet, which hadn't been updated with the new buffs.

    If I was going to use it though, I would certainly agree with the rank filtering, say just the ability to filter out ranks X+ would be nice, or rank tickboxes for guilds that have officer alts as a rank for instance.

    I've created a rank filtering prototype. It's basic, but it works.
    http://ks305642.kimsufi.com/kyne/WoWRoster/

    From what I've understood, Rank 0 is always the Guild Master, and Rank 8 is the lowest one, for rerolls.

    It's not saved yet, so you'll have to reset it.

    Looks good and works good.
    Much easier to sort it out when there no trials and alts to fill the lists.
