Which Bodyguard do you use the most?

Delvar for RP Reasons. I'd love to have a Kirin Tor Mage or a Priest or something as a Bodyguard because I mainly play Tanks. I am very jelly of Vivianne (imo they should have given a Tank to Horde and a Mage-Type-Caster to Alliance so both arent screwed either way).

Sadly Delvar punches Stuff with his fist because Blizz never bothered to give him an Axe on his Rank 3 "Form". It IS kind of badass. On the other hand - I prefer my Companion to hack Stuff into pieces.

I find it interesting how Vivianne is really high on the poll but not her counterpart Delvar. Then Defender Illona is somewhat high but not her counterpart Aeda.

Because as an aoe dps, Delvar doesn't even come close. Viv is a beast.
Likewise Aeda doesn't even come close to Illona in tanking. Aeda dies way too fast and you don't have many options to heal her if you aren't a heal class.

My feral druid runs with Defender Illona. I set her as my focus and spend all of my healing touch procs on her while keeping a rolling rejuv during elite fights. And because Kitty is the best, all the heals she gets - I get too. Soloing elites is a breeze!

Since I'm Alliance, Vivianne isn't an option though she seems like a no brainer for Horde. So I go with Defender Illona, summon stone perk is nice and she seems to be sturdy enough.

None until they give us more control with a pet bar - good thing there is nothing you *need* a follower for (that is soloable) in the open world.

You didn't have a "None" option but I use none mostly due to having a Bodyguard feeling like a permanent escort quest and I've hated those since vanilla.

How do you actually get followers to follow you? I talk to one, ask him to be bodyguard...... and a minute later, he's nowhere to be found..

Others follow me around, exactly until I use HS, Warspear Portal, Gorgrond Molemachine or flight path.. Then they are gone..

I have ONCE managed to get Vivianne to follow me.. Got 36 rep before she was gone...

You need barracks level 2, then you can employ one of the followers with the bodyguard trait there, then you can talk to the employed follower at the barracks and ask them to follow you.

While Aeda's great for her summoning, Ishaal is just the best for Apexis dailies and such. His level 2 ability is the only one that's actually helpful, a 20% dmg taken debuff. Sure Leorajh can BL but he's so stupid with it, it hardly ever matters.

You have to assign a follower with the bodyguard trait to your barracks first.

Then he will stand in front of your barracks, and you can ask him to follow you.

I don't have anyone assigned to Barracks.. I just find them wandering in my Garrison and ask them...

Maybe it will be different, if I assign them to barracks...

You need to EMPLOY them in the barracks from your architect table and THEN talk to them while they are WORKING at your barracks.
