Although it seems unlikely that they all make it to free agency

    Eli Manning
    Philip Rivers
    Sam Bradford

are all on the last years of their contracts, RG3 is a candidate for release and Jay Cutler is there pretty much for whomever wants him!

Manning will be resigned. Rivers will probably stay a charger or leave to somewhere and get body slammed by his own lineman in training camp the way he treats them. Bradford will stay an Eagle if healthy, probably wont be in the NFL next year if he dies again.

So yeah seems shitty next year too.

There was always the risk he has some breakout season and prices himself even higher a la Flacco. If they don't sign Newton who would replace him next year? Finding adequate starting QBs is difficult, look how barren QB free agency was this year, Fitzgerald and McCown? ICK.

    QBs making $20+ mil annually
    Rodgers - SB champ
    Roethlisberger - 2x SB champ
    Flacco - SB champ
    Brees - SB champ
    Ryan - one playoff win
    Newton - one playoff win
Vick would have come cheap, and more talented for a year or two to rebuild and draft/develop a decent QB. Matt Flynn as well, though probably a bit more expensive.

What seriously? Vick was worse than Geno Smith last year, and Flynn ended up 3rd on a depth chart behind Matt McGloin and Terrelle Pryor. The two guys you mentioned weren't good enough to hold down jobs for the JETS and RAIDERS, and you think teams can rely on them?

Yeah, of course I'm serious. Again, Cam Newton is statistically the second worst quarterback in the league, arguably the worst when you consider his stat padding in lost games.

Looks like the players aren't the only idiots.

I wonder what the NFL will do with Bowlen Jr in light of what they did with Hardy and Rice.
    Just because I don't care does'nt mean I don't understand

I know the voices in my head are not real BUT they have some REALLY good ideas

Other quarterbacks pad stats in losing games, so that sort of applies to everybody.

Anyway, anybody and everybody in the NFL is going to also be looking at the game film, and weighting it more heavily than the stats. Some pundits have him as high as 7th (which I think is overly generous), but many put him in the top 15, or at least that agree that he has a high enough ceiling to be a franchise QB. The point is that despite his poor stats, nobody in the NFL thinks of him as the second-worst quarterback. There are plenty of teams that would gladly offer him plenty of money if the Panthers didn't lock him up.

Probably wait for the trial to end and keep him suspended till it's setteled. Give him a suspension minus the time he's allready been sidelined.

Not that anyone cares what some minor rank office guy does or how he gets punished. It might get some attention cause of his name, but that's about it. Front office personnel getting in trouble is rarely news that gets more then a passing glance in the media. Sad but true.

I'd say he's way better than top 15 - that's pretty much average. That's Dalton territory. I think around 7-10 is a good spot, I'd have to make a list of better QBs, but there are so many journeyman starting right now that it would be hard for him not to be high.

Its funny how a few years ago everybody thought Stafford's contract was absurd. Looking pretty good right now.

Ya, I was only thinking about it since he is on the short list of like 3 or 4 people to take over for his ailing father who is the owner of the Denver Broncos. Bad enuff to piss away a chance to play when players do stupid shit but this dude pretty much shit the bed when was in line for a pretty sweet gig.

One thing though is that with all the negative things in the last year or so that has somewhat darkened the image of the NFL to a large portion of the public it could be far worse. We could be looking at FIFA and all the shadey on goings (that EVERYONE knew was taking place) and the fallout the is going to happen from that. I thought it was funny how Blatter thumps his chest as "boss of everyone" friday then says he is stepping down on monday LOL

Davis retires from the Niners. Man that several suprisingly young guys.

Indeed, with this news he will continue to be a minor official instead of a potential decision maker.

Anthony Davis is just taking a couple years off, no sense going down with the sinking ship! Take a break and maybe things will be less disastrous by then.

How close are you to Santa Clara? Cause I reckon there's something in the water there. I'd get the hell out of there if I were living nearby

Everybody is trying to sell their property before it becomes a desert with no value =)
According to Bleacher Report, it had something to do with concussion(s) and how he suffered one last year also. I won't lie, at 25, if he wasn't sure about his health, I don't blame him at all.
