Just be sure to watch the UK original and avoid the US remake like the plague. The follow up, Ashes to Ashes is pretty good as well.

You should try Almost Human , The 100 and Falling Skies

Under The Dome is an ok show too

Dark Angel was pretty nice too, it's an old show that only has 2 seasons AND Jessica Alba so...

Marvel : Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is a great show, the start was pretty boring but now it's a good show. What i like too is the fact that it's a teaser for future marvel movies' theme.

You want sci-fi and paranormal, then I recommend Babylon 5: The Lost Tales, Voices in the Dark. One of the plot line need knowledge about the B5 universe to be enjoyed, but the second do not, it is about the devil coming to B5 and posses a person and they need a priest to exercise the devil. Its a real genre shift because B5 universe have no real gods/daemons, but this time it is the real thing.

Quit interesting ethical dilemma, the priest can cast the devil out and save the person or take the possess person to earth (and give up to save him) to have the ultimate evidence that the devil exist and hence god exist, to a almost totally atheist population.

If you want the "political science" sci-fi, I would recommend snowpiercer.

Just out of curiosity for BSG, did you watch the miniseries first or did you start at episode 101? I've noticed that some people that tried BSG didn't realize the first episode wasn't actually the beginning and got confused and didn't like it. But I don't know how anyone cannot get hooked to the show after that initial miniseries.

I don't get into many supernatural ones, but for sci-fi here are some popular ones I don't see on your list:

    - The 100
    - Grimm
    - The Tomorrow People
    - Resurrection
    - Falling Skies
    - Orphan Black
    - Continuum

Yeah, The 100 is not a CW type show (outside of a large amount of yummy actors). It's not all puppies and bunnies like Vampire Diaries.

That wasn't as good as I was expecting, but I would definitely suggest watching it! (I had just heard a lot of hype prior to seeing it).

This and the fact that someone who professes love of SciFi didn't like BSG...what the frak?

I guess if I can't recommend that you force yourself to like BSG you can try these:

    Doctor Who
    iZombie
UK Being Human (Do NOT watch the US version)
Lost (do not read anything about this, just watch the whole thing through)
    Orphan Black
    Black Mirror
And I also recommend you get into Anime. It's got a lot of what you are looking for.
    BAD WOLF

agree with Grimm, sort of a side step but there is a new show Im enjoying called iZombie, sort of comedy/crime/zombie thing. You need to watch The 100 and Revolution.

Some of these might be repeats from previous comments:

    Supernatural
    The Vampire Diaries
    The Originals
    Grimm
    Lost Girl
    The Strain
    Being Human(US and UK versions)
    Penny Dreadful
    Salem
    Constantine
    Teen Wolf
    The Fades

    Science Fiction
    The 100
    Terra Nova
    Falling Skies
    Revolution
    Extant
    The Last Ship
    V
    Orphan Black
    Torchwood
    Primeval

    Superheroes/Powers
    Misfits
    Believe
    Alphas

    Fantasy
    Once Upon A Time
    The Librarians

And of course, Warehouse 13. Not really sure where to place it. It's uh...science fiction/fantasy/powers-ish?

Some of these are cancelled sadly. I'm a fan of all of these shows, but they range in quality(CW shows[Vamp Diaries/100/Tomorrow People] VS BBC shows[Being Human/Orphan Black]). Look into them all imo!

Edit: I keep remembering more shows I've watched, so keeps getting updated!

I'll update the first post with some shows I've seen but forgot to include since there's a lot of "HOW HAVEN'T YOU WATCHED THIS?!?!"

Just started watching Falling Skies yesterday, I'm 3 eps in and it's pretty good so far. Keep the suggestions coming though, other people might find some good references here too.
Your persistence of vision does not come without great sacrifice. Let go of the tangible mass of your mind, it is only an illusion. There is no escape.. For the soul burns on everlasting encapsulated within infinite time. A thousand year journey at the blink of an eye... Humanity is dust..
