Technically it's free for most people, you don't even need the original WoC DLC to play Be'lakor who uses the mechanic and comes to everyone who has access to Immortal Empires. All 8 Warriors of Chaos LLs get it, but the 4 from the DLC are limited to Undivided and their patron god upgrades, so Azazel can only get Undivided and Slaanesh, Festus only Undivided and Nurgle, etc. Weirdly enough it seems Sigvald isn't restricted in such a way and can mark his units with Khorne or Nurgle which feels completely at odds with his character, that last one especially as he abhors ugly things.

Personally I think the new DLC Lords would have better fit in their respective monogod factions, especially since their unique mechanics are just monogod mechanics borrowed wholesale anyway; for instance Sigvald and Azazel can seduce units and influence/force vassalization much like N'kari can except not as well. But on the other hand the troop upgrade tree is awesome on paper so eh, I'll live with it.

I tried starting up a new game of TW3 but just thinking of having to deal with that campaign stuff and missing all the factions from 1 and 2 put me off.

Immortal empires is looking good, everything they presented so far seems to be solid improvements. It's going to be difficult to pick what to play when it finally releases with so many changes to so many old factions, playing norsca and actually being able to settle stuff, warriors of chaos reworks looks fun etc, I will most likely end up playing Valkia as my first though unless her mechanics end up looking terrible but I doubt it.

Sounds good and yeah agree some are pretty similar indeed with their mechanics, Festus the Leechlord looks like fun btw just watched his walkthrough and much better walkthroughs from CA in latest vids too.

And yeah sigvald should be slaanesh focused for sure would feel pretty out of place having nurgle and khorne marked units in his armies.

They added a blog post to address this and various other things people keep discussing.

I think it explains pretty well why certain decisions were taken. For Sigvald for example it was just because he was already taken by another paid DLC, otherwise he would have been the prime candidate for the Slaanesh WoC champion. So they needed a different one that had to fit the theme of the DLC. And then they had 2 "Slaanesh" heroes that would play exactly the same if they gave Sigvald the full Slaanesh treatment.

There seems to be a limit and drawbacks to him recruiting marked units of other gods though. The general of an army needs to be aligned with the respective god it seems. Unless you play Archaon. His perk seems to be to utilize mixed armies the best.

They released one for all the gods btw, just in case you didn't see.
I liked the Tzeentch one the best but even the Porn-god one is awesome.

That one *really* showed how far they have improved with these trailers. The facial animation of that demon-lord was amazing.

I wonder if Morathis start position will be easier now that there is a Slaneeshi faction between her and Mazamundi. I found her start to be really difficult.

Think my favorite new place is southern Cathay. I'm torn between starting as Lorkhir, Settra, Skarband, Be'lakor, Valkia or Archaon for my first campaign.

Thinking about it, I'll likely play Valkia in Realms of Chaos down the road to see the story. But for IE at first Lorkhir, Be'lakor and Settra seem fun starts.

Honestly, I don't even know what to play first. Which means I'll probably revert to my trusty Vampire Counts. And hey, they even have some juicy changes to make it worthwhile. Now, if only Nagash was playable...

There's a modded Nagash campaign available for Warhammer 2 if that might tickle your itch for a bit.
Seems very extensive from what I've seen, custom spells, lords, units, etc etc.

Speaking of Nagash, that circle around the Black Pyramid was quite suspicious. Sometime at launch, I had some GPU issues which made my Kislev playthrough quite unbearable, so I may try to resume it as Boris, as I like his starting position in the Immortal Empires. In the multiplayer campaign, though, I think some ordertide participation is required, and treating N'kari to some Sisters action as Alarielle seems to be a very nice warmup.

What factions could possible exists in mid-lower right corner of the map?

Oh, just noticed Nakai is by himself there, maybe he can survive a while longer now.

Below Cathay? That is the kingdom of Ind to the left and the Hinterlands of Kuresh to the right. The latter has, as far as I can tell basically no background other then being a jungle full of bloodthirsty humanoid snakes and a lost Lizerdmen city.
