    Love the comic.

On a topic relevant note, I would love for them to make invisible shoulders transmoggable since I think it makes no sense that they would give monks the starter mistdancer set with invisible shoulders from the Salvage Yard crates but now allow us to transmog the shoulders... I also with they would change the restrictions to fist weapons and allow 1h maces/swords/fistweps/daggers to all share the same transmog type (assuming your class can use the wep)

It's obvious. Flying will be patch 6.3/6.4 big big feature, as you will be able to put your followers on a flying mount with which they're able to attack The Ogre continent or Shattrath or whatnot. Then you'll be able to fly again.

They know it will be coming. They just can't share it yet due to hype that has to be build up for each patch. In the mean time they will lose another 3m subs

Also, cinematoc for patch 6.2, is there any news on that yet?

    • Crimsonwing Moth -- A rare spawn in Talador with many spawn points, and only one ever appearing in the zone at a time.
    • Sapphire Firefly – A rare spawn in Spires of Arak who also has many spawn points and appears only once at a time.
ROFL.... "super rare pet spawns..." and then ... RECOLORS of super common pets... haha.... poor pet collectors.

I have 700 unique pets and this made me really angry. The rare Unborn Val'Kyr was worth the trouble since it's a very good battle pet and has a cool and unique look. But this? This is just a slap in the face and shows that they just added something that takes long to farm but they did not invest any work in it at all.

Here is a common needle, I drop it in this big haystack - have "fun" with this great content! No magnets (bots) allowed!

There you have it, it takes months to make a store mount. That explains why we don't get dungeons anymore.

Mhm, they're nowhere close to half. This is a pve game, pvp is a mini game tacked on. Hell more people pet battle than pvp.

    This is the right answer.

There is so much beauty in WoW's zones that you can't truly appreciate it when you are stuck on the ground. Plus I like the freedom to explore.

I've said it 100 times if I've said it once:

    - Require Fuel to fly (Food for beast mounts and Fuel for mechanical bits)
    - Patrolling NPC's[NOT GUARDS, think of that giant dragon that patrolled the shrines) that can knock you off your mount. Just like we shouldn't AFK were Mobs are on the ground, we shouldn't AFK in the skys.
    - Ability to have Air-to-Air combat and knock people off their mounts if they are flagged PvP.

    Moo

Unfortunately there is a lot of uneducated fanboys that will believe their blatant lies. Higher poly counts does not translate to more time needed to create them, they sculpt these models in zbrush at very high poly counts and with a lot of detail, then they use various methods to bake that detail in to a texture, the only difference between a high poly and low poly model is the point at which they decide to put details into the textures. So they can make good looking amounts in around the same time they did in BC, now they maybe add more items and fluff to them which does add a small amount of time, but higher quality models do not, and it's not enough to warrant double dipping. Considering their pipeline and priorities it might take like 2-3 weeks to create a store mount with some of that time being people working on things they have to get done first or waiting for input from higher ups or whatever. But that's going from 1 concept artist, to 1 modeller, to 1 animator/1 texture artist before being finalized, it's really not a big deal for such a large development team to make mounts.

I wonder where this "Blizzard has no idea what they are doing" fad came from.

10 years later they still make the best crack in town. They even provide venting areas for when customers aren't getting their dose anymore and go into withdrawals

Yeah, they make it as if the creation of mount is such a big deal... like literally comparable to making a video game with nearly real life graphics.
Ubisoft is able to release one Assassin's Creed game a year, each one with new assets. Blizz tho? It takes them that much time to create a meh mount reminding us of early 2000s and they are SO proud of it.
They look like rookies. And it's laughable.

Flying gave me a freedom to fully explore the land below, to land on a mountain top I would never be able to reach land bound. There is much in WoD I have not seen as I have no desire to gallop off into the sunset. I too stop to hover over pretty landmarks.

    Hmmm.

GTA V took 5 years and 350 people to develop.

Witcher 3 was created by Projekt RED, with 450 dedicated to only one title, and two year's development, based on the REDengine, which according to everything I've read, helps create worlds like they did quickly and efficiently.

Wow's team, in the Wrath era, was 37 people.

    Yes, 37.

    http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/17/a...hind-warcraft/

    Game Design: 37
    Cinematics: 123
    Platform Services: 245
    Quality Assurance: 218
    International Offices Population: 1,724
    Game Masters: 2,056
    Billing: 240
    Quality Control: 67
    Technical Support: 121
    Online Technologies: 149

Granted, the numbers are undoubtedly different now...but 37 people did Wrath, over two years. I've read that the dev team went up to 167 for Cata, but I can't find an official source for that. Throw in at least 50% from the Titan collapse and new hires. I'd bet they're up to 250 people at this point, at least. And in two years, longer than Wrath's development time, with 5 times the man power...

Yeah, I can't go on. It's just bullshit.

  14. #54
I wonder how many man hours were wasted changing the gnome loading screen to include a mailbox.

  15. #55
Fun fact, it took 1 man, 2 years of his life, to make the batman cloak for the arkham asylum game. So yeah, really good art can take time. However for blizzard, it's just an excuse since they have like 8 times the size of the team arkham asylum had.

What annoys me about this GM is that he's not even answering the complaints of people. people asking about unique and cool mounts only available in the shop, and he comes back saying we can get kodo #86 and wolf #214. I've seen the GM's give some shit responses, but this takes the cake.

Well, boy howdy, they're still in the game.
Most people don't have a problem with cool-looking, rare mounts for the high-end raiders.
The question is though, where are the cool-looking, not-so-rare mounts for the rest of us? Only available through the shop?
    That used to be different.

Why are they so vague about that? If they don't like flying and the majority of the players don't like flying then why not simply say "No flying in WoD"?

"Polygons require more time and money."

This is the biggest load of bullshit I've ever heard in all my time playing video games on PC. During the golden years of player mods with Quake, Half-Life, and Unreal games models and reskins were saturating the market and they were all done on free time.

This is just amateur Graphic Art / Art graduate projections. Self-inserting their pay entitlement for their "work" because they're too stupid to learn applicable field skills or research existing methodology. They just throw money at products that to do the work for them and put their stamp on it.

Are they still pretending the model updates are even acceptable? Especially the animations?

Now WoW team is supposedly "bigger" for WoD, yet we've seen nothing out of it. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

We constantly see excuses about production costs/time when none of it is real. It's not. It's just them nickel and diming players. Beating a dead horse for every last penny they can get.

I can't remember the last dev/blue reply that wasn't some useless snarky deflection.

Oh sure because ALL gnomes love building machines and have gears and machine parts just lying around, in the snow. Damn racists!

Or that Alliance Trading Post gets a unique Iron Horde Elekk, while the Horde gets...a fucking wolf, and the Grinning Reaver becomes a shop mount, despite the Laughing Skull being our Trading post faction. I normally defend Blizzards actions, but given that, can you see why people might be annoyed?
At least your trading post transmog items are cosmetic. Ours are restricted to plate only, which fucking sucks, cause it's one of the few nice looking draeneic sets avaliable outside the raids.

Hmm also regarding flying (earlier post made me think of this) -- I don't really care about the convenience. But I do miss flying to a high peak and jumping off and using zen flight to escape death at the last second. Gnomish BASE jumping sorta. I asked for wingsuits in the "submit an idea" thing. How fun would that be?
