More of a check to see if i'm missing anything. Had to spend most of the day today cleaning up the basement in my house. Family left for Flordia two nights ago, and I was looking forward to having a nice bachelor pad to myself to bring home booty for the next six months.
My bad luck had other plans, at least for the first day anyway. Turns out the plumbing in the house wasn't the greatest. Clogging somewhere (not toilet) lead to the downstairs toilet and whatever drain is attached to the washer to overflow, literally covering the basement and downstairs bathroom with shit water. After getting our landlord to send a plumber to fix the clog, I did the following things:
1. Sucked up water with wetback. Shoveled feces and tossed in trash.
2.Tossed everything that got touched by shit water.
3. Scrubbed all walls in both areas with all purpose cleaner to eliminate oder.
4. Mopped floor with bleach and warm water.
5. Got about 5 fans down there blowing as we speak.
Like I said, this is just to check to see if i'm missing anything. Basement looks just about normal now. However, this is the first time i've had a situation this shitty. I would be one to not know other steps that I should take to get basement back to normal. This was also the most disgusting cleanup i've ever had to do.

Honestly? Seems good. Repeat the list if you're still unsure, and make sure to air the entire basement out (if you have windows/doors down there) for a few hours extra, even if you don't notice any ... aromas. Just to be safe. Wouldn't wanna bring a tail home and have her puke, aight? :P

There's no Biohazard and you're doing what anyone does when their main sewage line backs up in the basement. A suggestion to the house owners from a semi-licensed plumber...have the sewer rodded out every 12-18 months to avoid this in the future.
