Apparently pointing out that the US had options other than the A-Bomb that also didn't risk our soldier lives in the Pacific Theater at the end of WWII is anathema on imgur. Who knew?

Finally home from work :/ Woo 16 hour day?
Well maybe we did, but as the old argument goes: hindsight is 20/20.
The question the argument is based on is important as well. Two major questions exist for this:
1: Was dropping the atomic bombs the best option?
2: What should the United States have done?
The reason these are differentiated is because of the hindsight. We had many options, but dropping the atomic bombs can be regarded as one of the safest (for the United States) options at the time.

^^^ Also, why are you getting into historical debates on imgur?

Oh, well that's certainly not true. The false dichotomy that it's either we continue to lose troops by directly fighting the Japanese or we drop the bombs is rather annoying.
I think for the most part, people only know so much as they were briefly taught in high school so they are just parroting the opinions of their teachers.
