Watched a bit of the Violet Evergarden dub. It wasn't bad, just that English voice actors always sound like tryhards. My Japanese ex was talking about how voice actors kinda sound that way in Japanese to but it's way more obvious in English because you don't hear people imitating English actors.

We must be the only ones. It gets a lot of hate, but I liked it too. I thought it could easily turn into a longer series too. When you can make a villain out of literally anything, the possibilities are endless.

It was one of those shows that was trendy to shit on because it was KyoAni.

I think it's because Phantom World knew what it wanted to be, and that let it end up far better than similar KyoAni shows like Chu2Koi and KnK.

Yeah, it rarely took itself seriously and when it did, it really nailed it.

Now Hitomi is assigned to stay with Yuuya, for his protection!

Its interesting anime, quite original on story. Gene modified humans fighting in arena for their rich owners.

Similar yes. But its owned by Konami...so makes sense why they tried to make a original.

Finished Yamada-Kun and the Seven Witches. Got really bad near the end but wrapped up nicely. The theming of the show was all over the place. It wasn't particularly funny. It was never a "harem". The whole "seven witches in school" aspect doesn't work when actual lives are at stake. Literally removing people's memories isn't something that should have been taken lightly as motivation by a girl who was lonely. And the student council president's motivations were never made clear so it never made sense why he was such a massive fuck wad. Also, they never wore witches' hats and robes, I mean, come on.
