Please help out our warlock (Hossin). He's my cousin and I've been raiding with him a long time. Only problem is... now that we're on the demanding fights he's about to be threatened with the bench if he doesn't up his DPS and I don't want that to happen. His damage lacks greatly on fights with lots of adds (Xhul'horac in particular) and I don't play warlock so I can't really help him. I know the problem lies in his shadowburn usage, but he claims it's too unreliable and expensive to use a lot. I don't have logs for Xhul because no one was logging but I know he could be doing better than he was.
I compared him to your better warlock on a few fights - specifically council. Aside from the usual dot uptime, he struggles to time his chaos bolt dumps with trinket procs. GSR gives you a ten second window to unload chaos bolts. He didn't have dark soul available for his second potion and basically struggled to combine procs with his own cool downs.
The better warlock averages 150,000.a chaos bolt versus your cousins' 100k despite a similar number of casts.
Basically react better to procs and stack pots and CDs. If he's struggling, dark soul glyph could give him more chances to get out boosted chaos bolts.

After having switched from demo to destro and struggling with the stat priority and not having hardly any crit, I started to play around with charred remains and I'm actually liking it quite a bit since my chaos bolt damage is not optimal. I figured if I can cast a shit load of them and line up procs with CD's and pots I can do pretty decent damage. It's not great (not anything like prepatch demo RIP) but I like it a little better than going DS.
