How do you kill totems or interrupt flag caps as affli?

So, I haven't played my warlock in WoD and I'm having problems that I haven't had on other classes. First I realized that I can't slow down demolishers in SotA, and then I had to poke a guy with my staff to interrupt a flag cap. I've also killed a spirit link totem with my haunt. Are we supposed to just rely on others?

Yes most of the time. You have some strenght and weakness like every other class

Devs say you're supposed to use your pet. I you aren't allowed if you run sac, bar bashing things with your weapon.
