Did we ever 'let' them in? I thought they barged down the door, declared they were fighting for us and have been a pain in the ass ever since.

Yeah. Though there's a disturbing number of people with rather awful world views on here. I suppose mostly due to it being an open forum with relatively high levels of freedom of expression and lack of censorship.

Most of them, yes. That's part of the irony.

Not really, back in the day before people could change genders, Cross Dressing was the only way to express being Trans. A fairly high percentage of early Drag Performers where Transexuals who didn't have access to the medical advancements available today. Many of the people hating Drag are the people who are embarrassed that type of act and routine was once the only outlet for people like me.

Yah, they may have hateful opinions, but they can articulate them. So smart but painful to read.

As to the SJWs, never did like them.

No, gender roles are established by the culture you grow up in. If you reject them, you fall into the trans category.

They were always there, but I blame the low self-esteem/ingrained self-hatred groups for their rise. That and the extreme fringe groups. They tend to be a little conflicting without realizing it sometimes... "We want to be fringe and our own special group, but want to be accepted by everyone and accept everyone." But then they wouldn't be fringe...

How is this any different from some straight people saying they are uncomfortable about gay people? I mean you bitch about people being against your lifestyle but then go ahead and do the same thing to others because it makes you uncomfortable?

Personally? I think most Drag Queens are fabulous. Some are awful human beings, but find me a group that doesn't have a bad minority.
the Tumblr crowd comes to mind, sure. and I'm not against drag, regardless of who does it.

No, it's really not that different, and that's why there is such a furor.

Really? So me saying that gender roles are fabricated makes me trans?

This thread is both amazingly insightful and mind blowingly confusing o.o

You need to buy a dictionary.

Transgender, as an adjective means, quiet literally, someone who doesn't fit traditional gender roles. Drag is a performance art where the performer doesn't adhere to traditional gender roles. Quiet literally Drag is one of the oldest outlets for transgender people.

These infernal "parades" have lost their charm and become a major political area that only a select number of people may use for their agenda.

I would say "gender neutral", or how about this: do you shop in the men's department or the women's and what was the sex listed on your birth certificate? If these are not equal then you can go for trans.

Don't mind the snark inherent in the preceding blurb.

If you actively do not adhere to the cultural norm, than yes.

If you are sexed female, but wear jeans and a tee, and work construction you are transgender. You don't have to identify as transsexual to be transgender.

I would classify trans people as those who are not comfortable with their sex at birth and want to be the opposite.

Is it though? I see threads like this and that's really all they are. Look I can point out a group is being hypocrites because I think it undermines their message. Otherwise who cares about a gay pride event in Scotland?

In the end, I'd kind of expect the labels "man" and "woman" in relation to gender probably aren't intrinsically important, but derive their importance from being the labels for how certain things are expressed.
But man and woman have biological meaning, in terms of sex, not just for how things are expressed.

Oh agreed. 10 years ago they were fun. Now? I swear the one here has more politicians and churches than anything. The bars and clubs do not even show any more. Needs more nearly naked mens!

Okay, so like anorexic people? Or is that not a kosher comparison?
