If this is indeed legit, i would guess that this will be the name of a book or a comic etc that will preempt the next expansion, sort of like how the warlords series did with those short cartoons.

Books & Comics would come under different Classification codes. The ones used for the Council Of Glades TM are for Goods Class 9 , Services class 41 with the descriptions covering computer game software and entertainment services (paraphrasing the description class from the PDF on my iPad BTW). It doesn't cover comic books.

Books/Comic Books are generally IC 16 , not IC 9

I'm not finding any links on the IPONZ site suggesting a private filing is possible.

"Private filing" defined as a filing that doesn't get uploaded to the publically searchable online trademark database. This is not the same thing as confidentiality of certain key information. NZ has fairly strigent privacy laws that organisations and especially government organisations need to adhere to , least they get slapped with very large fines and possible legal preceddings / a media circus.

Logically for them to want to keep it off the public database there must be some form of fee for doing so.

Look at the PDF of the older filings. Look at how many were transferred from an agent to Blizzard. That's how you hide it. Easy, inexpensive, and just some extra paperwork. On the IPONZ site, you can do it online.

I've never heard of "private filing", in the US. A trademark application, and the resulting records are legal documents, and in the US, the Freedom Of Information Act doesn't allow for "private filings". They warn you when filing to not include personal info you don't want made public, as the databases are easily searched by the public, which is why they allow PO Boxes. I strongly doubt New Zealand would allow it, either.

Although this trademark is already reserved and blocked, it has not yet shown up in the public database as
requested by the applicant. The Intellectual Property Office of new Zealand offers this kind of procedure
to clients for an additional fee.

1. Nope, it has not been proven fake yet, but there were many solid arguments presented that make it very unlikely to be true.
2. Diablo? WTF?! It's sounds absolutely nothing like a Diablo expansion... Lord of Destruction, Reaper of Souls and... Council of Glades. Completely different if you ask me.

'll leave you with this, not everything is as it appears at first, not is it always as you wish it. Turns out my skepticism was warranted. Now, I can summarily dismiss you and anything you say that isn't an apology.

You do realize that nothing you actually said is the reason why it's appearing fake, right? You don't get to after-the-fact appropriate explanations that were nothing that you were talking about.

You did nothing but sit there and say that you wouldn't read the actual page people were talking about and then, looking at the Starcraft trademark dates, declare it fake.

Point is there were folks in the beginning that thought this looked wrong... Turns out it appears they were the ones that had it right all along.

If it was professional, we wouldn't have found out about it. It's the one "leak" we can be pretty sure is fake.

The others are fake also very simple by simply reading things as 'a demon hunter' class or a new lichking. Fanfiction nothing more

Yup, the purchase was a fake or an attempt to perhaps make money if Blizzard does try to buy it from them.. but I'd think they would be smarter and already have bought if it were a real IP.
