The other thing that leads to it being a possible D3 item is that HOTS is going through a Diablo event at the moment. There is at least 1 more hero and speculated to be another hero unannounced and possibly another map for it. This much HOTS stuff should culminate in something. Gamescon was where RoS was announced, so it's reasonable to think there will be a Diablo announcement. No idea what though.
But Council of Glades, doesn't sound D3 at all. But it doesn't sound right for WoW either....
so Warlords of Draenor is /'woɹː.loɹːdz ʌv 'ɖɹæːn.oɹː/.I've always loved how in an attempt to make pronunciation through text easier to understand people have created a seemingly alien cypher for which few people without a degree related to language would ever been able to understand.
It sure would feel just as exciting, because you still are playing current content. We all know expansions are looming for WoW. Were you excited for 6.2 after 6.1 was out? I was. It's all just around the corner.
Having vague information on the expansion of Diablo 3 isn't going to shit on 2.3. If anything, it reinforces 2.3 hype. Because, you have 2.3 coming, an expansion announcement, wait for more info from Blizzcon. 2.3 is in no way affected by an expansion announcement, because of people interested in the expansion checking out 2.3. Certain people might not join just for 2.3, but if you announce an expansion with a huge patch lurking, more people try the patch and catch up while waiting for Blizzcon.
What makes sense? Is that expansion announcement for D3 is a Blizzcon event. Not because of 2.3 but for string along marketing, because the D3 expansion is still a bit farther out to release information. So we have to wait for Blizzcon for the information to be ready for the public.
Apparently even performing a preliminary search on the trademark is considered to be part of the application process. I could go ahead and fork out the $80 to search for it - and pray my wife doesn't kill me - but I wouldn't want to be committed to registering a trademark (or even the registration process) if it were a hoax.
Decisions, decisions. I've been tossing this up for the last 8 hours. It's the only way to know for sure, one way or another, before Gamescom. I've gone so far as to completely fill out all forms, just indecisive on hitting submit >_>

It's $80, you need to do a search on both classes 9 and 41, as it's part of the application process as I just outlined above. $40 per class.
It's circumstantial evidence that's sketchy at best. Every theory has led us back to the beginning in some way or another. We really won't know until Gamescom so might as well keep an open mind to the possibility of them announcing the next WoW expansion there.
We will know before. (Or have a pretty damn solid basis for it)
They won't annouce a damn expansion without any hype whatsoever. That makes no sense.
We need a concrete and filled trademark (it will show up on the front page). That hasn't happened yet.
Tick tock.
Yeah it's definitely within the window where an official trademark would be made. Maybe it's a troll who thought everything out really well, but there's always that chance it's a real trademark. I'll remain mildly hyped up until Gamescom, and then we'll see if that goes up or down with what Blizzard does there.
I find the fact that it's such an out-of-left-field expansion name somewhat compelling. If it were Eye of Azshara/Dark Prophet/etc it'd be easier (for me) to dismiss.
