Blizzard and Activision are parts of Activision-Blizzard. Blizzard is not independent of this corporation, and is beholden to the board of directors of this company, who represent its shareholders. Kotick is the CEO of Activision-Blizzard.

Now, it IS true that there are certain provisions in the corporate bylaws of Activision-Blizzard that require the CEO to get written board approval before doing certain things to the Blizzard subsidiary (like, firing anyone, or changing development decisions there). But Kotick has even more influence on the board now than he did before the Vivendi buyout, since he put a lot of his personal money into the buyout.

Sure but I still don't believe you that Activision had a major influence of the game, they had that during the "HERO" games where they outright killed the franchise by releasing one expansion after another. So I doubt he would of really rushed them, it was the Blizzard board who made the mistakes and particular fatal ones.

What's got me is there's probably no Q&A now, ever since they released beta-testing and believe that is enough.

i think its fine there doing smaller expansions

Eventually you will be able to fly in Legion, but not right away, similar to Warlords. Starting in Patch 7.0 the first steps towards the flying achievement will be available.

You'd think 5 million subs lost would have taught them this fucking lesson.

ya, you have to wonder when they are actually going to come through with the flying. to me, the longer it takes the more likely it was that they were just trying to get people to stay subscribed.

Yeah because that sub drop was just because of flying...never mind the backlash of garrisons, the "nothing to do" parade, and the massive hype train.

On a more general topic, most people were shocked initially that blizzard revealed this much information in the first place. Now they are complaining its not enough?

    I'm so confused.

Well I can bet you there are some at least. I for one wont buy legion until its possible to fly in it. I rather wait for that patch than waste the experience. Would have done the same with WoD if I knew what I do today.

Waste the experience? ....of flying over everything? Isn't that wasting the experience.

That all said - You do realise it's locked behind acheivements? You will have to have that original 'experience' as intended before you can fly anyhow lol.

I guess its wasting if that's the only thing you care about for flying. I however don't see flying mounts as a form of transportation I see it as the way of exploring and looking on the world from infinite points of view with total freedom not bound to the ground. I just love the views from high and low. You should log on to PTR and try out some flying in WoD, its just awesome, it really turned that expansion to one of the best made from one of the worst.

For deeper explanation see my posts on: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/15161277891

As you might find I don't mean I don't want to play on the ground to max level first, I think the way it always worked in earlier expansions is the best way. But I feel that an expansion without flying is just a half expansion for me. I rather not play at all until flying is available at max level.

Sprucing up doesn't change the fact that they're reusing content, which was the original argument. You're tangental.

Except that in the past Blizz has shown no problem retconning this stuff with, for example, DKs. Awfully convenient.

Using the same frame of reference (core weapon) and the same thematic twists (fel, lightning, fire) is a lot less work than coming up with unique and original weapon designs.

So I ask you...are you backwards, or something?
Whatever you ate in your cave, please stop doing it. It seems to bend your mind "backwards".

So you'd rather have them stick to their original decision to not allow flying at all?

i am sorry for all of you but you understand nothing at which mechanics make wow its success. You want to keep up the good work learn from the past. But such a logical thinking is bypassed...unfortunately. I would like to know also if developpers read his forums? BEcause all the people here talk withtout knowing if they are heard lol...i don't talk official forum because for years ihave not seen any ideas from players be implemented in game...

So, what makes this game fails and will fail again in the future ? it's very simple and no one pick up this truth :

    1. FLying+ 2. instances stones+ 3. group invocation + 4.ISLES as new territory = mix of fail

This game will never recover from his subscribers loss or relinquish their game if they add everytime ISLES AS NEW TERRITORY whenever a new expansion come out...at cataclysm zone were revamped but just fail because a lack of insistance, if they have taken little time to think after they revamped an azeroth zone where they retooled scholomance for example, imagine if there was no fly and no call stone and group invocation, people must cross the map and city to go to the instance like vanilla, so world pvp remain alive, and good old map populated again and if they add only daily questline with reputation on this zone, both pve and pvp will be alive too, then the reward from a faction should also be updates each 2 month to keep the zone attractive for players to maintain the attractiveness(new battle pets added, mount, tabard, unique transmog, others effects, challenge pvp name for the zone killer of plaguelands(when x ennemies player was slain) etc...otherwise when everyone get his reward from faction they never come again in that zone just look at tol barad). Making isle as new territory are just giving more and more a whole sense of emptiness world while paradoxically it get bigger....if they managed to lvl up the zone each expansion the zone will be still populated, like making molten core a 100-110 zone unflyable. Why do you think people slack on city ? because of seeking chan city and instant proc for instance or lack of things to do, waiting bg proc, no need to move etc... Once you finish to lvl a zone you wont come again to this zone, then zone is dead. Why Woltk worked even if its an isle? because of sick talent trees(bring back talent trees) and all the big instances where packed on ice crown so ennemies met on icecrown. Molten Core at vanilla was a big success because molten core was located crossing many zone burning steppes+searing gorge so it was a platform where ennemies are forced to met and fight in some way. Make dalaran the same, the dalaran from azeroth map, not an instancied one elsewhere on a isle plz. everyone will go ther for their artefact weapon linequest and it could be good.

Do you think allowing fly, making again instanced new isle territory, instance stones, raid group seeker with instant tp inside of the instance will make revive the game ??? NO! you just repeat what fails in previous xpac...do you think things guys things will changed with legion new features ? I see nothing that will make this game livish again. sorry. Idk if blizzard is trying to stop the rushing mind of player and the rush system they did: giving fast reward, doing instance fast, upping fast while it was a pain just to get benediction.

-idk if hall of master is a neutral zone or faction have their own.
-the new honor system is good in a way the vanilla system is back but it will not be possible to farm rank with world pvp so we come back again on bg proc and arena honor grinding. The clue is to give a great attractivity to world pvp as much as arena, so honor from world pvp should be really boosted or title some prestige should contain smart world pvp individual objectives to avoid premade group and others more collective, so in order to unlock new ranks you have to accomplish wpvp quest. a great world pvper should deserve same recognition as arena. MAke big wpvp title as arena master or gladiator if that titles are still use on legion.

People that are playing Demon Hunters would likely be playing a melee spec anyway, so it shouldn't add too many more melee.
I don't understand how they get to that. Everyone's going to want to try The New Thing, as with DKs. They may not stick with it but that remains to be seen.

Not going to buy it until you can fly? Be prepared to be behind on your artifacts and everyone else on everything. Then again if you don't want play simply because you can't fly as soon as you hit max level- you probably don't do anything beyond LFR anyway so it won't matter. Just come on back whenever and roll your face across your keyboard for a win/win.

Wow, dude...people like you. I've played since Vanilla and I can tell you that WoD looked completely different from outlands in TBC. Reusing content? Like what? The Emerald dream? The Broken Isles? A new continent? New quests and raids with a storyline that did NOT end when Illidan fell in TBC? We've known for YEARS that the Legion would return and infact MANY people have been asking and hoping for it for a long time.Exactly WHAT are you looking for in how zones should look? How gear should look? They have done...basically every type of environment you can do. Bad gear? You've seen a few pieces of gear and people actually tend to LIKE it. Just quit man...you're never going to be happy. Ever. Complaining just to complain.
