I don't believe it's possible to get the artifact at all. You do end up with Dog Residue though. That's useful...sort of.

Yes, the strength of the dialogue alone even if you've seen one ending is worth it, the destination is awesome, but the journey is what you'd play the game for, I would say.

The main bulk of the game is not so long but since it has multiple endings it has a ton of replay value.

It's pretty short. I think I'm like 3 hours in and almost done? There is a lot of replay value with 3 different endings though and a lot of conversation with NPCs to be had.

Think I have a total of 16 hours played on this game (I once fell asleep while listening to the music in snowdin oops)
I have yet to do a genocide run but I cant bring myself to kill papyrus, he's too precious

well so long as its not like 10 hours I will be ok with that.

If you stop to smell the proverbial (and in one area, literal) flowers and examine everything and fulfill the criteria for the true pacifist ending without having to start a second run, it takes around 4-6 hours to get to the best ending from a new game.
