Anything but face or neck is fine.
Anything but face or neck is fine.
Aye mate
No, I don't hire people with visible tattoos. If they are somewhere customers can''t see them It's ok.
I remember 2/3 years back we had a guy coming in for a job interview that tattoos on his lower arms/hands and those giant earrings that make you look like a buashman from the Congo or something. Like hell he was getting a job >.>
Employers claim they can't hire people with tattoos because customers will be intimidated by them. That won't change until society stops perpetuating its prejudice against people with tattoos. How do we do that? Like every other prejudice, it needs to be seen as that and become socially unacceptable.
I think the fact that employers can get away with this just reinforces that cultural mindset. So I support tattoos becoming a protected class.
It's nobody's business what you put on your body and we need to defending people who marginalise those who are "different".
It all depends on the tattoo, location, and attitude of the individual. I have a 3/4 sleeve (Scar's (from Full Metal Alchemist) right arm tattoo). I work as a nurse at the hospital here. It's a great ice-breaker for clients, and I've gotten many compliments (especially from the elderly). I have yet to have a negative reaction. It has not, in any way, effected my ability to be a professional.
If they're the best person for the job, yes.

we depend on RNG.
If I only get one buff,
then bury me at sea
Depends on the business, construction work, building houses yes. If I had a bakery selling things to well off people then no. If I had a programming shop where I did custom coding for other businesses then yes and no, if he was a programmer who never represented the company to the public yes, if he worked a lot with customers no.
And it depends on the tattoo and extent like a lot of other posters in this thread have already mentioned. A small Chinese word tattooed on the back of the hand may be ignored, while a full facial mask is problematic.

Depends on how the style of the tattoos and what the job is. Aslong as it isn't something racist, gangrelated, skulls and shit like that. And tattoed in the face is a big no go.
Yeah of course unless they have tattoos on their face. I have one visible on my hand so far and had no issues finding work so far. Think it's much more accepted now days, atleast in sweden.
As long as they're not visible and offensive I proabbly would, if they had the word cunt formed of lots of little swastikas on their forehead, probably not (as an extreme example) but if they had a regular sleeve tattoo it wouldn't affect my judgement
Depends on what i'm hiring the person for. I don't have anything against them but I can understand others might, so I wouldn't hire a tattooed person that needs to interact with customers etc. alot.
Also the placement of the tattoo
People with tattoos in the face or other parts of their body that cant be covered up do not deserve a job in the first place.
Thats how i feel about it. Yes i would hire anyone with a tatoo that could be covered up
well yes, depends on what kind of tattoo ofc..
and i do know a person with 3 tattoos on his head, who is skilled at what he does, he goes to his job, every single day and do what he should do, nothing more, nothing less doing what he is told to do.
and yes, he does look like a maniac pretty much, but he is one of the nices person that is around.
You could say the same about the type of clothes someone wears, what haircut they have and even if they wash themselves or not. It's their choice, so you need to mind your own business.
But that's not how the world works. People would see some sweaty, smelly, tattooed fatass as unprofessional in many lines of work. I know I would.
yes and no.
for a customer facing role, i would hire them if the tattoos could be hidden, or were very minimal tattoos on their arm or something, but face/neck tattoos would be a no for a customer service role. but for a job where they are not face to face with customers / clients i would have no problem.
my reason for it is not really because i have a problem with it, but depending on the business and your types of customers, they may have an issue with it.
See, I hate these kinds of threads, you formulate the thread title in a way and then you formulate the poll question the opposite way so since people like me, who read the thread title then the options vote, they vote wrong.
So, overall, yes, I would surely hire someone with tattoos if they fit the job professionally but I clicked wrong in the poll. Want to bet I was not the only one?
Also, the only way that I wouldn't hire someone with a tattoo is if the tattoo was racist/discriminatory/bad taste (bad taste meaning something like the twin towers with a plane hitting them).
Otherwise I wouldn't care. You can have a full skull tattooed on your face, if you're best for the job, I'd hire you. If you had a "kkk rules" or some other bullshit even as a tiny-tiny thing hidden and I found out, you're fired/not hired.

Depends on the job and depends on the tattoos.
Honestly wouldn't give a shit about where a person had tattoos if I was running a machine shop or warehouse, but if they are selling medical instruments or dealing with possibly conservative customer base then I wouldn't hire anyone with a visible tattoo.
