i don't disagree necessarily, but don't suspensions interfere with education? missed days is missed instruction, no? though for a 6 year old it's probably not as impactful as missing time in a tougher STEM AP course (or whatever).

It does interfere with the troublesome kids education, but the schools/teachers don't always have the necessary resources/tools/authority required to do anything about it, so they make it the parents problem to fix the kids, and hopefully come back less disruptive. Suspensions are there to protect the education for the rest of the class. Our schools, for example, had teachers and small classrooms just for the more disruptive individuals.

And Endus, just out of curiosity, I remember reading you were a teacher? What do you teach?

very few stem ap kids are being suspended across america... that is not a problem. one of the problems is we spend too much time (resources) on the losers and not enough on the AP kids.

(Not that it would make it any better, just trying to understand the thought process).

Zero tolerance is a concept that only works for people who don't understand the concepts of "context" and "shades of gray". They don't want to evaluate situations on their merits, so they come up with stupidly generic rules that they don't have to think about.
Holy shit I agree with you on something.

    Wtf is happening lol

On topic though: That Principal should run for PC Principal.

How pathetic is this? Poor kid must be confused as hell.
