The rest of the article is just her trying to justify the fact that she's a sensitive baby and can't handle abstract concepts, also trying to imply that violence can be anything but physical, and that black student performance is caused by racism, not the student's. Stop making excuses for these people.
The letter didn't mention the evidence of why blacks are dropping out, and being criticized by your professor IS PART OF THE PROCESS. Everything else is just based on feels
lol.......being 'offended' by things...........such people are just the ultimate pussy shits
We have faced trials and danger, threats to our world and our way of life. And yet, we persevere. We are the Horde. We will not let anything break our spirits!"
Refering to this:As you can imagine, this utterance caused shock and disbelief. Her comments that followed were even more disparaging as they articulated not only her lack of awareness of racial discrimination and violence on this campus and elsewhere but an active denial of institutional, structural, and individual racism. This denial perpetuates racism in and of itself. After Ph.D. student Ian Beier presented strong evidence about low retention and graduation rates among Black students as being related to racism and a lack of institutional support, Dr. Quenette responded with, “Those students are not leaving school because they are physically threatened everyday but because of academic performance.” This statement reinforces several negative ideas: that violence against students of color is only physical, that students of color are less academically inclined and able, and that structural and institutional cultures, policies, and support systems have no role in shaping academic outcomes. Dr. Quenette’s discourse was uncomfortable, unhelpful, and blatantly discriminatory.
I'm glad I got a real degree (read a Science degree and not an Arts) and had almost no interaction with this PC shit.
And I saw, and behold, a pale horse: and he that sat upon him, his name was Death; and Hades followed with him. And there was given unto them authority over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with famine, and with death, and by the wild beasts of the earth.
So if they aren't true why doesn't she try to refute them with facts rather than whining about hurt feelings? If I saw lecturer making an error, I would tell him/her to correct it. Unfortunately these societal things are harder to proof, but it still won't justify firing her for being so sensitive about it.
I know at UT Austin, a lot of the drop outs are in fact related to academic performance. We have a stupid policy that lets the top10% of every public school get admitted. This leads to lots of drop outs when some schools are just bad even for the top 10%
