Would horde nightborne balance out alliance high elves?

if both were to become playable from a lore perspective?

at first I though, no, the magical expertise of the nightborne would be an insane boost to the horde, but then I remembered that the night elves recently got highborne who are also 10k year old + arcanists full of ancient knoweldge that continued practicing magic throughout building on knowledge no one else knows. Sure Imol'thar was no nightwell, but i think it may be honors even

Playable high elves don't bring anything strategicall more to the alliance for being playalb,e they are already in the alliance offering all their expertise , so the alliance doesn't gain anything new from them being playable.

    Nightborne are just soo cool

We don't need four groups of elves. Two is already enough.
High Elves are the most boring and unimaginative possible choice for a new player race.
Nightborne are slightly better, but only slightly. Their uniqueness mostly comes from their clothes, which aren't a racial trait.

You should know better, the forums will be bathed in flame, by hardcore hordies if another elf race is introduced into the horde, but potentially it might.

I wouldn't mind. Elves have the best lore in WoW.

I'm horde, I want Nightborne. So, so bad.

I'd actually welcome Nightborne or Night Elves to the Horde, but Blood/High Elves on the other hand are just too "bright and clean"!

To be honest, to me, Night Elves always seemed more of a Horde race than Alliance, especially those Feral Druids from WarCraft 3.

Sure, if you add Amani, Drakkari, Sandfury and Zandalari Trolls. The many sub-races of troll races in game, the merrier.

You..you guys realize the Nightborn are almost identical to Blood elves right? The Sunwell and Nightwell? The dependence on the well? Not getting source of magic leading to becoming a wretched (For belves) or withered (for nightborne)

All Nightborne offer is just a different color of skin.

Even better, Nightborne as a Night Elf Subrace. I'll post my list of subraces for each class, updated with Legion races.

    Human
    - Azotha: Ugly children of the Vrykul, Barbarian and Vrykul features. (RPG canon only)
    - Half Elves: Children of Humans and High Elves, refugees from Theramore.
    Dwarf
    - Dark Iron: From Blackrock Mountain, dark skinned with fiery eyes.
    - Wildhammer: Traditional tattoos and tanned skin.
    Gnome
    - Leper: Irradiated Gnomes with restored sanity.
    - Mecha: Gnomes 'blessed' by Mimiron, certain Mechagnome features remain intact. Chris Robinson Approved.
    Night Elf
    - Nightborne: Ancient Elves, evolved due to the effects of the Nightwell.
    - Cenarion: Dryad and Keeper of the Grove features.
    Draenei
    - Man'ari: Twisted, demonic servants of the Legion. (We know Demons can secede from the Burning Legion if they find an alternate source of power, for example Illidan's Demons & the Reliquary of Souls)
    - Broken: Draenei twisted by dark magics. (Can in fact work with Draenei Skeleton)
    Worgen
    - Bloodmoon: Northrend Worgen, polar wolf features.
    - Blackhowl: Worgen infused with the Blood of a black Dragon. Scales and Drakonid features.
    Orc
    - Mag'har: Uncorrupted brown and black orcs, natives of Draenor.
    - Half-Ogre: Mok'thanal Orcs, a la Rexxar.
    Troll
    - Forest: Mossy skin, warpaints
    - Ice: Cold, pale skin, white hair
    - Sandfury: Coarse, cracked pale skin, black tusks.
    Tauren
    - Highmountain: Moose Tauren from Highmountain.
    - Taunka: Cousins of the Tauren from Northrend. (Would require head remodel)
    Forsaken
    - Elf: Undead High Elves, pointed ears and elven hair styles.
    - Skeleton: Completely fleshless undead (Requires new model)
    Blood Elf
    - Darkfallen: Last remaining members of the San'layn, welcomed into the Forsaken by Sylvanas.
    - Felblood: Some Blood Elves overfed on Fel Magic, causing effects beyond simply green eyes. Sprouting small wings and horns. Still friendly, however.
    Goblin
    - Gilgoblin: Aquatic goblins, created by Hobart Grapplehammer.
    - Tinker: Due to numerous engineering accidents, certain body parts replaced with volatile goblin technology. Blackfuse style.
    Pandaren
    - Tuskarr: Keep the body, change the head to a Tuskarr's.
    - Grizzly Bear: Cosmetic option, be a Furbolg. (Possible remodel)

I suppose it was inevitable this would come up.

Why isn't one elf race per faction enough?

Both groups traditionally featured in fantasy (high elves and dark/wood elves) are in this game already.

We really don't need any more of them to be playable. It is perfectly fine as it is.

I'm pretty sure we're going to exterminate them all (minus the twisted Nightfallen) and have no redeemable aspects whatsoever. I have no reason to want these suckers in the Horde, especially if used as a gimmick to introduce High Elves as playable Alliance "race".

Can we stop with all this elf bullshit? We already got elves on both sides... it's good enough.

Looking forward to cutting some elves to tiny ribbons. After I'm done with Legion you won't have any Nightborne to add to any faction!

+1 for "we don't need more elves"

We DO need High Elves, well, at least I do for the simple reason that Thalassian elves are my favorite race, but I can't play Horde.
I wonder, shoc, if those subraces would have unique starting experiences? Some would require it.

Combatbulter, a half elf doesn't need to be a bastard.

I would prefer them as a Night Elf sub race. I would like to see them. And yes I do want high elves for the alliance as well.

    Actually....

Horde Nightborne and Alliance High Elves would be just fine, IMO. Basically it's turning NElves and BElves neutral.
